My cat's bagged 13 rats (I keep a scoreboard on the fridge), but he's hopeless with birds.

Myee8, in same documentary I recall one scientist admitting that the primary problem was human's destruction of natural habitats. I'm all for eliminating both feral cats and humans in the bush.

i once had an elderly neighbour who had 29 cats... yes thats not a typo. he was basically too old and they just kept on breeding. once upon a time we used to have blue tounged lizards in the backyard, native honeyeaters and all other sorts of lovely birds. those cats put paid to that.

the old man has passed on now, and the cats were taken away by the RSPCA some 5-7 years ago, but we still dont get the lizards and birds like we used to :(

i think its still ok to have cats, most people are responsible with them... but i wouldnt mind seeing one day a law passed that you have to desex them unless you are a breeder.
