Can anyone help? Im having trouble with the screen on my laptop. Its a 2003 TOSHIBA Sattelite notebook, thoughi go tit brand new just over a year ago. and for the last month or so, the screen has been playing up. Every now and then i'l move it and the screen will flicker violently, with lines appearing horizontally on the screen and flickering up and down on it. It stops when i shift it a bit, or push and pull the screen back a few times, but then starts again later. Sometimes after flickerng it'l fade to all black, or just a fuzzy mess of colour, and il have to turn it off/on. I think i might have a loose wire or something? Im pretty poor, what does something like this cost to repair? Can anyone help?

I used to be a notebook tech fixing Toshiba's.

2003 model but you bought it new last year? Where from? Trying to determine if it is still in warranty but if it's from 2003 I think it would be out now... all models from Toshiba come with 3 years warranty and this is a warranty fault.

With your problem, it's either a faulty screen (ouch... about $400 plus about $100 labour) or you might luck out and it's just an FL inverter, which is cheap. But more than likely your screen has packed it in...

cheers sirlothire, yeah it was a birthday present last year, my mother picked it up from some over the phone set up for 800 bucks in about June, , so cheap but yeah, an old model. Apparantly had just been rotting away in a wharehouse. No idea about he warranty, im too guessing its out, and sh*t, thats expensive. Had no probs till recently though. Again, thanks for the help.
