I'm into dogs, but wouldn't mind owning a harness horse one day, would love to own a galloper but the cost is too high.

What would it be to buy a half decent ready to race pacer and what are the on going costs like?

In work theyre around $40/day plus extras like shoeing & floating.

A long time ago someone posted a thread on here about racing a pacer together, low and behold someone took the bait and a bigfooty pacing syndicate was formed. You could find the thread if you searched it was probably 18-20 months ago at least though. And you dead set wouldn't believe it, the horse can actually run pretty quick. Maybe one day we'll let everyone know what horse it is. No names from me though now sorry. I promised the other poster i'd never mention tom's racing name online.

Race for around $5k in the country,Sat metro is currently $14k
Prizemoney has just decreased slightly due to EI.
Has a good Vicbred scheme worth $2750 for 1st win at 2 & 3.
Also Sires Stakes Series from 2-4 yrs.

What they do with this info is up to them but considering most Vic tracks have 1 bookie,its unlikely we'll be telling many more.

The sectionals i read about on the other harness horse sound like your 3YO can run along a bit. I have owned, bought and bred some 30 pacers over the past 25 years, with some success including a multi MV and HP winner who won 20 races, so I am not exactly a novice at the caper.

I maybe interested in buying into a horse, but if possible could you please tell me what kind of budget you would likely have for the sales, who picks out the horse and who is likely to train it??

I'm keen to get into another pacer so will probably have a good look through the catalog at APG. I think we should probably wait till closer to discuss further but TB what would you be looking at spending? My personal budget would be around the 10-15 or so i guess, maybe more but some of it depends on if anyone wants to get involved with me. Who knows what can happen in between now and then, too.
