Agreed :)

watch this run of ellamojo. Only had 2 starts as we know but look at the first up run though and now look at the form of this race..... 6 wide from near last and then got beat by Mavrick who jump pumped the previous race and they both pumped the rest.

no guts no glory..... 400 place lol.... actually BECAUSE it's only had 2 starts, there's a higher chance of it breaking.... 200 place :)

Yep convinced me :) Decent crack straight out on it in this field

Albion Park R2 Golden Market - Place

With NTD the place odds will be worthwhile in a weak race. Will lob a good spot and run well enough

Geez that was painful, showed no gate speed and basically got stuck in the death the whole way and dropped out

Originally i thought we would get $1.70-80 about it to place, being on 2 place divs and i cant see any scenario where it doesnt run top 2 so ill have a bit of a go to place

Weekend Winner

I don't mean to go and start a thread for every 8th bet i have that i think is a certainty (Danny Macgill) , but

in the S.A oaks on Saturday night @ Globe Derby, a filly by the name of Steam Washed could be the biggest moral i have ever come across in my years of punting.
I punt quite regularly but am not a huge punter in terms of outlay, but i have already had a decent crack at it on TAB Sportsbet. Now i know it is $1.45 which i know is very stingy odds (got it at $1.55 earlier in the week) but even though they are not great odds in general, they are unbelievable odds for this horse, i don't think it will start longer than $1.30 on the day.

Anyway back to the horse, it has a back row draw which wont phase it at all because in its 6 starts (5 wins) its never been closer than the one-one.
it has substantial margin wins over the second and third faves. last start it ran second to Louvre (which would start $1.04 in this field) and had to come about 57 wide, (no exaggeration, watch the replay, well maybe a little exaggeration:D) and the 2nd and 3rd faves finished down the track in that race as well.

Alas, enough of my rambling, you heard it here first, and as the saying goes, THE MORE YOU PUT, THE MORE YOU WIN

$1.45 = Money for Jam
:thumbsu:

Daniel Jack also has Charm Alarm and Chloe Vargarite in the race; two of the three involved in his suspect race at Shep a few weeks back!
Probably one of the stronger SA Oaks for a while actually. Good to see.

I agree Steam Washed is very promising.

However the day I take $1.55/1.45 any horse driven by Christopher Shinn,
especially off the back row on an unfamilar track,is the day I give up the punt

Even with Kate Gath on the 2nd fave

How is a $15,000 race classified as a group one.

That is just a disgrace.
A rose by any other name.
An oaks by any other name.

Nope if this race didn't have Oaks written there it would be the biggest non-event ever!

SA Industry is really struggling.
I can definitely see why people think the $15,000 prizemoney is a disgrace. Just like the Tasmanian Cup (a grand circuit event!!) ran for $40K last week (was originally $100K but I believe its financial troubles with Tote Tasmania forced the 60K drop) it sucks and they don't really deserve the group 1 tag.
I'd like to see it a group2 along with SA Derby but can understand that taking away the group1 tag would hurt SA industry even more.

For anyone who didnt see the St Leger at GDP,go & watch the replay & you'll quickly understand what Im talking about.
Antigua draws inside 2nd row to follow the fave & leader, pressure goes on with a lap to go & all CS has to do is get it to the cheat lane.........

I really hope Steam Washed wins for those who are on,despite the driver

Cranbourne R7 #8 Rich Pickings to Place @ 4.40

There should be good pace off the front line but none of them will be able to get arounf Hall of Famer at the start if he wants to lead which will give Rich Pickings the gun run on his back the whole way and will be able to have one go at them in the straight

I actually think The Tash has quite a good draw. Has no chance of beating Forever Gold i dont think but has a great draw to get a soft run and get out late to fill the exatcta

Credit to CS for managing to keep her on all fours, what a gem from Kate Gath too.
You know the driving talent has fallen away when Karen Kendall shows the best judgement & almost steals it

Anyone on the forum help me out with Cranbourne or Gloucester Park?? Helpful advice on who came out of strong races compared to opposition would be appreciated.

I know next to nothing about the merits of these things, but my prices in the first two at Gloucester were:

R1
5: 1.60 - ran 1st, started 2.50
4: 6.40 - ran 2nd at 6.60
7: 11.20 - unplaced at 50/1
2: 15.50 - ran 3rd at 9.40

R2
7: 2.30 - 1st at 1.90
5: 6.70 - 2nd at 22.60
8: 10.80 - 4th at 22.00
2: 11.30 - unplaced at 30/1
1: 12.50 - 3rd at 4.10

Of the rest of the GLOP card:
R3 - 5/9/1,2,4,6
R4 - even: 2,7,10,11,12 no order
R5 - 7&5/8/1,2,9
R6 - even again 7,11,6 from 9,10,8,5
R7 - 3&7
R8 - between 6,5,7

Enjoy.
