Ian Harvey left Melbourne today for the West Indies, not only to play for (carry drinks for...) Australia, but also to talk to David Hookes about his cricketing future in Victoria.
I just can't shake the feeling that Harvey is no longer a required player. Hookes clearly has no love for him, or his game. Last year he declared that County Cricket has "ruined him", and if Shane Watson comes to Victoria to play...
That would leave Jon Moss (Bill Lawry medallist 2002/3), Shane Watson and Ian Harvey fighting for the all-rounders spot (or 2 spots, if we continue to line up like we did this year).
All this leads me to believe we might just see Harvs underperforming for anohter side in 03/04.
