Harvey promoted at Blues

Former St Kilda AFL stalwart Robert Harvey has been promoted into a new coaching role with Carlton.
Harvey, who last year served as a development coach, has been elevated to the assistant coach's position.
He will work alongside Mark Riley as midfield coach, joining assistant coaches Brett Montgomery and Matthew Lappin as part of the Carlton coaching panel under senior coach Brett Ratten.
Matthew Capuano, who was a part-time ruck coach in 2009, replaces Harvey as full-time development coach.
Carlton's pre-season campaign started on Monday.
 
After seeing Capuano's work with our ruck stocks (coupled with their natural talent), I'm quite excited to see him in the Development position.

Also believe the assistant's role will force more out of Harvey. Good move Blues!
 
Great move by the club. Our midfielders, Judd included, will benefit so much having Harvey as a mentor. Looks to be a pretty impressive coaching panel we have assembled for the 2010 season, with Riley & Harvey working with the midfield, Lappin with the forwards, and Monty with the backs.

I believe the only way SOS would return to the club was if he was made the senior coach, he is loving being at St.Kilda right now apparently.
 
They wont have SOS back unless he apologizes to the club and dont think thats gonna happen anytime soon. Bradles has to do the same thing when coming back

Anyone think the club is grooming Harvey to be Ratten's replacement if things go pear-shaped in the next couple of years ???

I happen to think Ratten's weakness as a coach will be exposed without Fev, and he'll be gone by 2012, and I couldn't think of a better, more qualified replacement then Banger !!! :)

Too many people at the club still think that SOS sold the club down the river with regards to 'narking' to the AFL about under the table payments, so I wouldn't expect to see him back at the club anytime soon.

Sold down the river ... yet previous would return if was made senior coach :confused: contradictions abound...make up your mind :rolleyes:

Many people at the club agree he;ll be back some day
