Does this mean that Haselby and his manager got a reality check when they went to Melbourne?
It was suggested earlier - no doubt by his manager - that a number of clubs were interested in his services.
Don't get me wrong, hase is one of my favourite players but I couldn't see a thriving market for a slow, 28 year old midfielder coming off a serious knee injury. No matter how good his ball winning ability.
Perhaps Freo don't look so bad now?
Sign on the line, get on with playing and when you do retire you will justifiably be one of Freo's legends.
