This could be amongst the shortest thread ever but given my namey thingy on here and the fact that Mrs. Mann taught me in primary school I would like to acknowledge Hassa Mann turning 80. Still got his autograph in my little autograph book we all had back in the day.

Vividly recall I do the day Mrs. Mann told us one of Hassa’s aspirations was to have a connection with a feline lineage. Alas even the greats must learn to live with such disappointments.

Yeah I’m feeling bad about this now. I probably need to just get another cat. I can have Ron Barassi, Stretch (who is a female, but I figured Steven wouldn’t mind) and then bring in Hassa. Not a bad recruiting period

He was lined up behind me queuing for finals tickets at the G in ‘98. The crowd couldn’t believe such a club stalwart was having to queue. (He was a casualty of the Joe purge in ‘96/97 as the CEO under Ridley). Word got quickly to club staff and they came rushing and respectfully escorted him from the queue. Didn’t hear the conversation but I’m assuming he received his tickets later.
He was not upset and seemed to be very humble.
A great man (pun intended)
