I regard Adelaides mid field and they way they use the ball around the ground as first class. Tactically better than Brisbane(Brisbane has a better players in the midfield) and Essendon. With Mcleod back from a rest they will be firing.
Richmonds weakness is there for all to see and it's our midfield. Can we put together a combination in the centre that will match adelaide? Have we done our home work on there game plan? Have we the tactics that will bring the game back down to our level? we must be able to dictate the monentum of the game or it will be another flogging.
I know I have said it before but Rodan must start in the middle. He puts the pressure on the ball carriers and I personally think this his his greatest strength. He attacks when it's time to attack and defends when it is time to defend.
If there is a time to turn the season around it's against adelaide. A strong performance and we will be back on track. Another performance like last week than we will struggle to make the eight with the current group in the Middle.

Apart from Rodan, who would you put in the middle with our current list?

Zantuck in burst.

Last year rnd 9 we got murdered out of the middle. And our brains trust put brodders as a loose man in defence. Hopefully they have a better back up plan than that one.

I'd try Poyas.

He's got that hustle & bustle about him which is good for going in and getting the ball. Definitely think we should be trying attacking combinations. All too often we have too many defensive players in there (eg. Sziller, Torney, Dunc).

I think CJH mentioned Budha Hocking. We need some who can sought out our centre square contests and around the ground ball ups. At the moment we would have to be the most unorganised in the comp.

Maybe we should employ an outsider as a midfield expert close to mid season who can come in with an unbiased view and plot a run to the finals.

Bit hard when he's been dropped!

Can't believe it!

Are we once again trying to make a half-forward of someone who would be better off in the midfield. Remember when Richmond did this to Justin Murphy? Just because he can take a grab does not mean he should not be allowed near our midfield. If Michael Voss had played at Richmond he would probably still be playing in a forward pocket.

I reckon Poyas is one of the unluckiest blokes around and wouldn't blame him one iota if he started looking elsewhere if Richmond don't give him more opportunities. He would of played more games at most other clubs. I believe a few clubs (Collingwood especially) were sniffing around at the end of last season because they believed he was being starved of opportunities.

Im not sure what the logic is when it comes to dropping Poyas,it seems to be a famine or feast policy with some of the youth. He along with Coughlan need to be given at.... least a month with plenty of ground time to either cement a spot or back to the two's. A Lack of faith by the coaching panel dosn't ingender belief in these guy's because they usually know that if the team performs badly then they are the scape goats, even if thier own games have been as marginal as the rest of the team .Its time spud said to some of the senior list (if he hasn't already)you dont peform we'll give extended opputunities to the younger colts.
