Hey guys.
I posted almost the same thread in the Richmond board. But,
Im Heading up to the game in sydney on the weekend (from Melbourne).

Were getting a flight from Melbourne at 6 am.
And a return flight at 10 pm.

Just wondering if any Sydney-siders would be able give me some info about where to go in the morning (breakfast and beers), and where to head before and after the game to have a few more beers.

Help would be much appreciated, because bondi is the closest I've been to Sydney.

Thanks guys. :thumbsu:

It is a great spot Bez, actually Dudley and Bungee put me on to it. And the best part Slim is that its walking distance to the SCG and it will be easy to get a cab back to the airport.

Thanks heaps fellas. Appreciate it.
Looking forward to what is hopefully a good game.

Do thepubs serve Carlton up there?

Whilst the places those guys have posted sound great...........

I'd stick to the official club function post game, for our sake and yours. Call our membership department on 1300 RICHMOND for more info

Would love to, but only 2 of the three people who are going up are Richmond members.
Can you go to the after match function if your not a member?

Very friendly crowd at the Shift but not exactly a footy pub. Bat and Ball at Moore Park is the best place for pre game drinks, then its about a 5 minute walk across the Sydney High School playing fields to the SCG. Fox and Lion in the Entertainment Quarter at Fox Studios is closer but a bit more sterile.

There's plenty of places around for breakfast in Paddington. I like bills on Liverpool street. I'll probably get called a w***er, but for hotcakes with honeycomb butter I'll cop all sorts of jibes.

What are you on about? Ball sports are hugely popular there!

I'm guessing sports like greko roman wrestling are more enjoyed at that bar than women's beach volley ball? Is that the message I'm supposed to br taking from this?

Haha.

Although i do really enjoy directing friends from melbourne into the columbian when they need to go to the loo....

Best pub after the footy for for me is the Cricketers Arms, cosy and plenty of footy supporters flood in there after the game.

any alternate options? im interested in drinking beer, and talking footy, with richmond supporters.:thumbsu:
Yeah, as others have said, the Cricketers Arms is probably the best pub for post footy talk. Might be a few "chardonnay sippers" in there, but that's about all;)*

* Not that there's anything wrong with that kind of thing, eh Bedford;)
