Headsets

Which headsets do you guys use to abuse err i mean communicate with fellow gamers over?

Ive never had one but want to get one so everyone can hear my wife and kids whinging whilst i'm killing teenagers in MW2

Should i get the official PS3 one or will a dodgy one from an Ebay Hong Kong supplier work?

I have a Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset and I assume it works fairly well, for others to hear I mean (Even if I do tend to mumble a fair bit, 'ey Camo).

Got it for about $20 all up from eBay which is pretty good value.

There's a list of compatible headsets somewhere and which one's work best for use online and such. I'll try and find it.

But for all I needed that Motorola Headset was perfect for me.

i bought a madcatz ps3 headset a year and a half ago (with jb gift vouchers), or somewhere around that period of time and that one was OK...a lil uncomfy

when the official ps3 one came out i got that and havn't looked back since.
it's an excellent product but whether you want to spend $75 on a headset or not is up to you.
they all work and most quite well.

i gave the other headset to one of my mates to use while playing cod4 online and he seems to come through pretty clearly (the madcatz one was like 50 bucks but isn't fantastic like the ps3 one)

well i just bought the official ps3 one from JB was in there wasting time and just thought stuff it and bought it

it's a nice thing to have but definitely not essential.


in borderlands for example it is the perfect game to use one

on modern warfare just playing for fun it's not necessary...but can add to the fun
moreso if you're in a clan or have alot of friends in a lobby

in the end if you have some spare coin it wouldn't hurt picking one up

i had that problem too... just follow the instructions.. then keep re-doing it till works.. i wasted about 15 mins getting it set up..

edit: also remember to change the output device to system default setting so that the other people chatting come out from the tv and not the headset

makes it way easier to hear/understand them
