help needed - Re: search page

Hi,

Just wondering if someone can help me. I have a problem getting rid of a search page that comes back every time i open internet explorer. It's located in the c drive but everytime i delete it it reapears. I've tried changing the home page in the options of I E, but nothing seems to help. I'd appreciate any advice.

It would help if you told us which search engine it is; but try using "spybot search and destory"; remember to update it, and then scan and see if it gets rid of it.

it's called search everything, but it appears in the window as C:\searchpage.html.

I'm abit cautious about using spy ware removes because it tends to also pick out alot of the windows files that are necessay to run a few programs.

any other segestions or is that about it.???

Run Spybot and Adaware. The stuff that is 'necessary to run certain programs' is spyware, and is probably making your problem worse.

That said, if you really want to keep those files, both of the above programs allow you to pick and choose what gets deleted.

Do what this guys says.

It doesn't take off anything that Windows needs.

It may take out files that stop programs like Kazaa (not Kazaa Lite) running, but that is a goof thing, because those types of programs shouldn't be on your computer in the first place, and can actually cause the problems that you are having.

Spybot is very safe. For those that use it, version 1.3 is out.

I follow up spybot with Ad-aware. Not much escapes the both of them.
