help with increasing memory

hi my sisters computer always says that her computer is running low on memory..

she has a sony vaio (not sure on spelling) but apart from Microsoft office and norton antivirus she doesn't have any programs installed ...

it has a SD card input and i think buying one of those might help but not sure and dknt really know what I'm looking for!
any help will be appreciated

The memory her computer is talking about is Random Access Memory (RAM) and it's fairly easy to install.

ah k cool thanks man! but that's all a little out of my league! so getting a SD hard disk to put in the available slot won't help?
I might just advise her to take it to a shop because I won't be able to help her with that

No, that won't help and a shop will definitely be able to do it for you. Wouldn't imagine they'd charge too much, either.

running low on RAM or disk space? you might be confusing the two. even with few programs installed, virus, mem dumps, temp files can be using disk space.

right click in your c drive in windows explorer and click properties to check.

to check RAM run taskmgr.exe.

Increase your page file in computer management (Windows) or increase RAM. Remember not all RAM is compatible with each laptop, and that 99% of laptops use SODIMM.
