About 2 months ago I decided to end my continuous computer problems by running a 'System Recovery' at startup.

Prior to this, I had around 15Gb free on my C:

I went through all the backing-up process, although to my delight, I realised nothing had been removed, though my problems were fixed.

When I went to click on my C:, I noticed that I only had 4Gb free...

Now I've learned to live with it, however now it's starting to bother me. A few times I've gone under 1Gb, and that's not on.

I'm getting Sims 2 tomorrow and I'd think I would need around 5Gb at least, and I can only get myself up to 3GB (deleting my unecessary programs).

Anyway, has anyone else ever heard of a problem like this? It sounds like my PC backed-up my files, but then kept them - as in they're all on my PC twice...that's really all I can think of..

Cheers in advance.

The only thing I can suggest to find out where the space has gone. Go into windows explorer and right click->properties every folder in the root of the C drive to see how much space is being consumed. If you're using XP, the Windows folder should be a around the the 2Gb mark. Make sure you have chosen to display hidden files and folders and untick the hide system files option. Do this via the Tools->Folder Options->View->Advanced Settings dialogue box in Windows Explorer.
