I like the look of him, he couldn't crack a game in the geelong team this year but with the likes of Egan, scarlett and Milburn it was always going to be hard. He has been playing the majority of the year in the backline with the reserves. Great size and when he did make the team he played well. I would definetly look at him in the PSD if he is delisted, but if he is retained by geelong i would definetly look for a trade, maybe a 3rd or 4th rounder.

Not a 3rd rounder and even a 4th rounder. Too expensive. Playfair is a dud.

I personally would look at Tenace and Prismall.

I would look at tenace and prismall aswell, but we already have a good group of midfielders, but i would like tenaces speed. Anyway we really need a solid backman that can take a giant. Playfair is a much better defender then miller, he has a great body and can get his fist to the ball and thats what we need. If he is available in the PSD we should go for it, but apparently we are going to go for Meeson in the PSD.

i dont even like responding here because it means this thread will go to the top of the pile but i feel so compelled to do so......................Playfair is a fair dinkum ******, he is worse than miller and even worse than mark blake...............he has no skills what so ever............watch the game against port adelaide that the cats lost down a skilled if u dont believe me..............dropped chest marks all day...............dont think he even got a kick................then when the game was on the line took forever to get rid of the ball coughed it up and casissi goaled from the resulting tackle..........he is a absolute ******* no other way to discribe him...........cant kick, cant mark, no pace, no brains............everything an afl player shouldnt be...............the only thing he has got going for him is height............NOTHING ELSE.............hes a *******:thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd::thumbsd:
 
I reackon he should look into playing for Barwon Heads next year !

Yea lol.............maybe he could be vice captain for shannon park(special school) in geelong here, thats only if he trains real hard....... im pretty sure thats were he went to school...........lmao

Atleast i dont out these......when not required. The humble comma wouldv'e done fine. Who do you think will play as the giant backman this year. Who is going to take the monster forward. TBH i know his skills arent great but we need someone who has enough strength to hold his own and get a fist to the ball. Ben Holland is not that man no matter how much you want him to be.

The thing everyone worries about is tall strong fowards well they are a dieing breed......who is left in the comp that is a dominant power foward?? Rocca, q.Lynch and Neitz that is about it........And playfair would have his pants pulled down by each and everyone of them.......Holland i dont want anywere near the backline i would rather plonk him in a foward pocket..........Fowards these days are mobile quick and athletic......you dont need a "big" defender these days as campbell brown proved all year this year, and how josh gibson played on buddy franklin in the semi finals........everyone plays a loose man just about these days making a big full foward irrelivant anyway.......like i said playfair is a ******* he couldnt even play as a loose man in defence he doesnt deserve a pay check from a country club let alone a afl club

True, but that full back has to be able to play on leading forwards like Franklin. In replacing Holland with Playfair not much will be achieved. I'd rather Carroll or Frawley be out muscled a couple of times a game than Playfair been beaten on the lead every time.

Gee dee molishon you have a real disliking for playfair, did he steel some lollies of you when you were younger. I do agree with you in regards to holland though.:D

No.....my mate just goes for geelong and he bags him to me all the time........i had to find out what he was on about so i watched him closely ........and he is a fair dinkum ****** we bag him together even if we go and watch vfl...........nothing better than BAGGING HENRY over the fence lol..........his name should be a dead give away, anyone with the name HENRY shouldnt be playing afl after 1960
 
Not interested. I am interested in Tenace though. He shouldn't be too expensive given how little AFL experience he's had. His speed would really help us in the middle.

ill mark these off for u and u tell me:
brown vs playfair = not even in his class, would get his pants pulled down by the first quater
fevola vs playfair= way way too slow, holland never plays on fev chopper gets him and hes even to quik for chopper, again pants pulled down
rocca vs playfair= whats the point of getting him for this dutchy kills him anyway
lloyd vs playfair- same as fevola to slow and stupid to know what the hell lloyd is doing
pavlich vs playfair= pav would run him absolutley ragged, he has the engine of a mid-fielder henry would have a stitch by the end of the first quarter...not even close
mooney vs playfair= he may know some of cams tricks from playing with him but still not quick enough cam takes alot of marks on the lead
tredrea vs playfair= probaley his best match up because tredrea is finsihed as a dominate player, dutchy could play on tredrea these days
richardson vs playfair= not quick enough richo way to quick on a lead for him, inaccurate kicking might stop him getting dragged by the end of the 1st quater
hall vs playfair= lol if barry is fit and firing way to strong and has way to much endurance for henry he would again have a stich by half way through the first
lynch vs playfair= the amount of supply lynch gets off the west coast mid field henry would have to be alert the whole game, he's about alert as mosquito who is sucking blood, has no flipping idea what so ever what is going on around him!!

Now u tell me who the hell he can match up on please!!!!

Agreed. I wanted him with one of our top 5 picks in the 03 draft, glad we didn't as he'd be a lot cheaper now.

yeh good old Carroll not only out muscled MORE THAN a couple of times a game he is beaten on the lead as well. As for Playfair I dunno, as someone said he is the geelong version of Miller but I would try anything to help our backline and get rid of Carroll.

Dont see how u can possibley blame caroll.....his 2006 was fantastic, dont u see the link that when we get thumped and have a bad year, that the backline seems to stuggle? if the ball is getting kicked down there more times than we get it into our 50 of course oppostion teams are going to score heavily.......it all starts in the mid-field, if the mid-field wins the ball and gets numbers back to help out the backline looks pretty good all of a sudden......i know carroll is no matthew scarlett but he is one defender i wouldnt be bagging, takes the best foward every week and does a pretty damn good job most of the time
