Channel Nine is reporting that the almighty Mitch Clark is set to make his comeback this Saturday in the VFL. Normally I wouldn't post something like this as I'm yet to find any online sources to clarify Nine's reports, but after all it's Big Mitch, and I currently can't contain myself. Let's hope these reports ring true, because we need a solid bout of good news, and there would be none better than the return of great man.

Sounds great. Hopefully him and trenners get a run on the park this saturday. I've half a mind to go out and watch him tear it up in the VFL if this is true

Good news if it's true. Will just be keen to see him come out, play and get through it all okay. How much he does on the field is irrelevant to me, will be more about building his confidence and getting the first game out of the way.

I completely agree, as much as in the back of my mind I'll be hoping he can kick a bag, in reality just seeing him get through the season unscathed, building form in the 2nd half of the season would be brilliant.

Seeing Clark jag a few would be great, but the reality is that he's been out of the game for quite a while. He'll be lacking match fitness and be rusty. I think Demon fans everywhere can be ecstatic that he is getting himself back on the park.

Quite remarkable how important he has become to our set-up, especially considering most fans' (natural) wariness when he was originally brought in (myself included).

Hopefully he can ease back into it and be firing in time for R1.

Certainly the key thing for Mitch, if he does play, is to get through the game well from a physical standpoint, and one or two quality moments during the match would help the confidence too. That's about the limit of my expectation, after 9 months out - anything more is a bonus.

Hopefully Mitch is just one of several best 22 who get a run.
Could have Viney,Trengove,Blease,Dawes,TMac and Kent as well as Mitch vying for a chance to prove fitness before Round One.
Can only hope.

Saw thread title, expected to be reading about Wonaeamirri33 and his return to BF.

News is even better.:thumbsu:

When/where is the game? And against who?

I believe it's this Saturday at Casey against Port Melbourne, although that information could be wrong...

The Post Match interview from the suns game with Neeldy and Ellie addresses this. Neeldy makes a comment of all the players that'll probably get a run with casey this week. Check it out.

For those who can't watch, or CBF watching, Neeld says:

Mitch Clark
Chris Dawes
Jack Trengove
Jack Viney
Sam Blease
Tom McDonald

should all be playing for Casey this weekend. That's 6 first choice players. Even if not round 1, they should be back for round 2.... nice.

and now the write up.
http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2013-03-18/big-names-set-for-casey-hit-out

Speaking after Melbourne’s 25-point loss to Gold Coast at Southport on Saturday, Neeld said “it’ll be interesting” to see how Melbourne lines up in its season opener, given that at least half a dozen important players didn’t play against the Suns.

“It’ll be a tough time at the selection table, because there are a few boys we expect to run around at Casey next week – Mitch Clark, Chris Dawes, Jack Trengove, Jack Viney, [Sam] Blease [and] Tom McDonald,” he said.

“These players are going to get another hit out next weekend, so we’ll have to wait and see how they play and how they pull up, before we make any final decisions.”

We could possibly have our best side on the park......Possibly..that is massive news..
