I like Mirza, but I hope Williams wins very easily so we can get the showdown started. Is there still a curfew for match starting times? If it's 10.30pm like it used to be then it could be delayed until 10.30am tomorrow.
 
I don't think they'll suspend the match, nor do I want them to.

A lot of matches on the outside courts were washed out today, and they'll need to squeeze a lot of matches tommorow and on Monday. They'll use Vodafone and hence they can't have to many excess matches.

Just a query, how would the ticketing have worked tonight? Would those who had a day ticket have stayed for the match, or would those who had a Night ticket, be forced to wait outside?

If it gets squeezed onto RLA first thing tomorrow instead of Ferrero Nalbandian I will explode in sheer fury and kill everyone I see. They better play it tonight.
 
Did sandy roberts just say that it'll be breakfast before the hewitt match starts? That better be an indication that they start the match tonight no matter what, or i will be angry.
 
If they are expected to play at such extreme hours then the quality of tennis will suffer.
Also one has to assume that the majority of spectators will leave for home well before the match finishes, rendering a poor atmoshpere, which is detrimental to both players given that both players feed on crowd support.

1. Yesterday we were staying till late and look at the quality of the game.
2. No one will leave the Hewitt vs Baghdatis game.
3. We are in for a cracker.
 
The rule is no match can start after 11pm.

But they may apply some discretion.

My guess is the match will not go ahead.

Women's match should have been relocated.

People come to watch the men play, not the women.

Where though? They had already started Berdych vs Monaco on the only other useable court.

I will certainly be staying up all night to watch it if it goes ahead as scheduled but I feel for the players. It is almost cruel to make them play well past midnight.

I'm sure one of the male players a couple years back requested to not play too many night matches because of this bullshit. If you're Hewitt, you're probably scheduled to play night matches almost every round.

It's bullshit. I wouldn't stand for it if I was him.
 
He may be an Aussie but he is still a w***er, hoping for a good match but for Marcos to ultimately prevail.

I was there tonight, just got home as my old man didn't want to stay there too late. Disaster before the game, with everyone milling around outside and no other tennis to watch, the big screen was packed and it was basically impossible to move around RLA. When the game started, they rushed the womans game to start so quickly that few were inside for the start of the match, and not everyone was seated until about a half hour in.
