As someone that is obsessed with music and have been ever since I can remember, I see a lot of myself in the nerds from High Fidelity. I watched it again yesterday. Anyone else a big fan?

I feel a huge connection to the music nerds of that movie. The Captain Beefheart, Pavement posters, Jesus and Mary chain, Stereolab, and various other indie alternative bands of that era remind me of myself sometimes.

I would've thought High Fidelity is about 10 years too old for Hipster Kitty.

Anyway, I rather like the book, and the movie was pretty good, too. Certainly Jack Black's best performance. Movie needed more soul, though. Less Beta Band.

I remember when I heard they were making a movie of it, in America. I thought it would be terrible. I had never heard of Jack Black at the time but was a big John Cusack fan.

I reckon they did a great job with the film.

Far better then they ended up doing with Fever Pitch !

Jack Black is probably less offensive in this than he is in every other effort of his. Which isn't saying much. The English version of Fever Pitch is watchable.

I was only aware of an English version - with Colin Firth.

Apalling adaptation. Took everything that was great about the book out and made a substandard romantic comedy.
