Stephen Hill (shin soreness) and Hayden Ballantyne (foot) are others being treated conservatively who are all but out of contention for the NAB Cup opener at Patersons Stadium on Sunday week.

But the club’s approach with Ballantyne and Hill, regarded as two of the Dockers’ most promising youngsters, is more about safety first then injury.
It is understood that Hill has had his training load lightened for several weeks because of sore shins and will continue to be monitored.
Ballantyne’s recovery from foot surgery has been cautious but the club says he remains firmly on target to be ready ahead of round one.
