So with silly season upon us here come's a somewhat silly question.

What are the origins of our fearless leaders tattoo?

Looks a little tribal or new age but what is the meaning and symbolism behind it?

Cheers

I thought it was a design of his underarm hair.

Well, he is a footballer, and still under 30 which means he has to have a tattoo somewhere on his body. It doesn't have to hold any meaning, nor does it need to look good .... but it IS a tattoo, and that's all that really matters.

Yes, very true.

And it's Luke Hodge's tattoo: that makes it perfect by me!

I've wondered this for a long time, hopefully someone knows what it is, I have no idea. It looks a bit like that graffiti you see all over the place these days o_O I am not a fan of tatts and am glad that we do not have a team full of players covered in ink. Interesting the only two at either Hawthorn or Box Hill that had sleeve tatts have now departed (Buddy and Retzlaff).

Anyone else notice that we don't have any players with shaved heads and/or big bushy beards like other teams? I wonder why that is?

As long as I get to see it lots of times when his arms are raised in a victory salute or raising some silverware it could be a tattoo of Jeff Kennet's @rse for all I care. Actually...wait a minute! If you squint your eyes ever so slightly when viewing it, it does look rather much like... :p

Because we are there to play footy not have some fashion contest. Also our baldies like getting the old wig action happening

Does Mitch have any? I would respect him even more if he did not.

I have never seen one on him.

What about Gibbo. Comes across as the kind of bloke that would but have not seen any.

I think it looks pretty terrible overall o_O
Its not on you, so it shouldn't bother you
It's pretty bogan looking. Drunk on an off season trip at some point?

Tattoos don't have to look good to anyone other than the person who has the tattoo

What's the difference between someone with tattoos & someone without ?

Someone with a tattoo couldn't give a f##k if you don't have one
Someone without a tattoo has an opinion on everyone with tattoos

I'm pretty sure Hodge doesn't give a toss if guys on here don't like it, and clearly it was important enough to him to have it marked on his bicep in indelible ink, so I'd wager it means something to him.

WA Hawk.

Yeah, nah. Two issues that I see.

One is a question of Tatts, the other is the question of taste.

Hmm, I quite like tattoos actually. I think it's completely fine to comment on someone else's tattoo, it's art work, some will enjoy it, others won't.

Is it footy season yet?

Maybe the needle dug deep into a raw nerve when they go theres ?
Who would have thought a guy getting a tramp stamp was going to be an embarrassment for eternity?
*especially when its the welcoming smile of Jeff Kennet's face worked into a tribal design above your crack
