The Hornets fired Paul Silas yesterday/today.

The bloke hasn't done much wrong in his 4 years there, he can't help that they had injuries during the season. He's got them in the playoffs since he's been head coach...granted they havent had alot of success in the post season i think it's tough on Silas to be fired this way. Hopefully he'll have a chance at coaching the Raptors.

definitely harsh...i would put several other teams in front of the Hornets for singling out...

Interesting. I like Silas, and I reckon he's a top bloke. I would hope he gets a job next season.

Seems that those in control of the Hornets are suffering from the same affliction as the Sydney Swans board.

Obviously have an inflated view of their playing roster.

Silas has done a brilliant job with what he had at his disposal.

If he doesn't get a gig as a head coach, I'm sure a team would be ready to pounce on him as an assistant. He's a cluey guy.

What chance do we give Silas for the new Charlotte gig?:p

I thought it was a shocking decision. He loses Baron Davis for a big chunk of the year yet still guides the Hornets to the 5th seed in the East, then he loses Mashburn for 2 games in the first round series to a finger injury. Philly are too good not to take advantage of that.

Theirs nothing Silas can do about injuries. I thought it was a poor decision. Silas though will certainly find another head coach position, perhaps in Toronto.
