How do I change settings for search engine?

This is driving me flipping crazy. When I use google I quite often use quotation marks to narrow down the search so it is relevant. Recently I have found that when I type the ", it wont appear until I hit my next keystroke.

Hey, it also happened then, so it is obviously not only related to search engines. So basically, I type " , nothing appears until I type another letter/hit the space bar etc.

Please help, future searches rely on your kindness.

If it's only happening in your browser than reinstall the browser.

If its happening outside of the browser try (GENTLY) prying the offending key off and have a clean around it and replace the key.

If it continues to happen buy a new keyboard (assuming you aren't using a brand name computer's keyboard and it's not in warranty).

Thanks Monkster, I think it must be to do with the language settings for the computer, or the font maybe. I played around with these and seem to have solved the problem.

Or maybe I had to much to drink last night and I was seeing things.

It is to do with language settings and accents. I changed it a while on my computer. It's just so you can get the little accents above letters (i.e. typing ' and e, would result in è).
