How do I get 2 displays???? HELP!

Hi,

I've got an 8800GTX video card and want to send the signal to both my monitor and my plasma TV. I can get the windows background to appear on the plasma (using SVHS cable) but only in black and white and it won't show whatever is running on the monitor (DVI)?
PLease help!

What's the native refresh rate on the TV. You might have it set at 72 on the card where the Tv wants 60. Get out the tv manual or google it up and check that out.

Other than that. Lemon Engineer (suck it and see) the DVI connection to the TV and play with resolution, refresh rates, make the TV the primary monitor, etc etc. Often you just have to play with it. Check the drivers.


btw if you are going to run it like that. Make the PC screen 1 and the TV screen 2. That way, if you are running a movie or whatever on the PC you can move that to the TV (where it will look best) and leave you monitor to do other stuff.

do you have the nividia control panel installed


there is a tab for multiple displays under that which will help you adjust the screens and resolutions easily fromm there

Yeah I've got the control panel but I can only get black and white on the TV, I'm gonna try a DVI to HDMI cable tomorrow and see how that goes.

The colour issue is fixed, some moron (me) bent one of the pins on the lead.

Now when I go into the nvidia control panel and select to run the two monitors but not as a clone, I can only get the wallpaper to appear on the TV, how do I fix this?

That's how it works. if you drag a window or move the cursor over the right hand side of the screen you'll see it appear on the tv...

I thought you wanted to run it as a clone so you can get the same thing for your TV and comp? (in your original post)
