How important is saving money for injuries/suspensions?

The problem with doing this is you never know when an injury or suspension is going to hit your side. On top of that, you have no way of knowing which one of your players will go down and at what price they will be at. For example, when gibbs went down, noone knew he would be subbed off on 50 points at half time, therefore affecting his value for the next 3 games.

Money is better off being put into your team rather than having spare cash sitting on the sidelines, after all that means points lost every week.

there are many different circumstances though

I just make the 2 best trades I can every week with the money I have, it's working so far

I like to keep on average around 50K in the bank, generally in the off chance that someone will be subbed off early due to injury and thereby wiping a crap load of money from my players value. It is however one of those rules that sounds great in theory, but doesn't always work well in the real world.

I find it hard to keep DT money aside, however I managed to save 50k or so over the last few weeks, and it was able to dig me out of the huge hole I was in last week when I had to remove a few squids from the back line. It's worth it, but it's also worth gambling at times.
