Not sure if someone has posted this in the past, but how many trades have people used? And how many do you expect to have left by Round 11?

I have used 5 and prob aim to have about 8-10 trades left at Round 11.

Used 1.
$171k in the bank.

You can't predict how many you will have later as injuries could strike at any time..

Have made 1 trade so far. Im going to need to make another after this round tho....as I have Williams in my team after the lockout time :( Waste of money sitting there too till rd6.

But 1 trade gone, about 50k spare in the bank and currently in 105 overall with an average of 2200 per week.

FIRSTLY sorry for preaching

OK I do not understand all this fuss about trades. The fact remains that afer your first 30 picks they are the most important thing in the game.
HOWEVER so is having emergencies that play. You can save a number of trades by choosing your bench correctly. Personally I have used 6 trades with 400.0 in the bank. But I also have 7 out of 8 emergencies playing Ellis, Kosi, Hadley, Browne (Injured), Darcy, Hudson, Davey and n.Abblett and still scored 2030 last week.
The way I see it all trades from now on will be for injuries that also upgrade my team. but only when a bench player cannot fill the viod. There is too much fuss about picking up players at the right time in my opinon. There will ALWAYS be a bargin player on offer. For every L.Power, Goodwin in round 5 there will be one in round 10 also.

Nice:thumbsu:

I sort of only 1/2 agree with that, in the sense that by round 10 their $$$ value will jump significantly if they are in any sort of form...

For the record i have used:
5 in Deream team(afl)
4 in super coach(h/sun)

My only regret so far is the fact that i jumped to early in both comps on the B HALL speculation(injury) in R2 and dumped him, only to watch him get 150 odd points that week..

S...t happens, iv'e got BIG JONNO(afl) and CHAPPY(h/s) for him and they both go alright..

im happy to spend trades early on... i have used 6 trades.

the plan is to leave 3 or 4 for the last non-finals match.

i have target prices for players i wish to up and down grade.

and i have players who i will not trade unless they get injured.

my team is: bold players will not b traded

Backs: Mc Phee Goddard Waters Walker Polak Kosi Ellis ( S Fisher Boyle)

Center: Kerr Black Ben Johnson Rischetelli Rodan Lappin (Gibbs Hadley)

Ruck: Sandilands Cox (hudson griffin)

Forwards: Pavlich Fev J brown Burton R murphy (prob staying) Brennan Davey (Fisher Hawkins)

Sc price tags:

Polak 400k, Kosi 330k, Rischetelli 500k Rodan 450k Lappin 380k Brennan 400k b fisher 400k for upgrades

with ellis, boyle, davey, hawkins, hudson likley down grades towards the end of the year.

not saying they will all be changed but these are the players im looking at to trade, and ensure that i wont waste picks swapping proven guns unless somethin extrodinary happens

if you cop more than 3 long term 5+ wks then ur an unlucky man. 5wk+ injuries are the only ones ill trade, depending of who i am playing in the league however

as it has been said a good bench will prevent you from suffering too much from injuries

Yeah, I've used 6 also.

The beginning of the year is when you get an idea of who is in a new role/position that will affect their scores, and you can trade in/out as appropriate.

And as true as it is that there will be bargain value players in every round, the earlier you get more guns in your team, the more weeks these guns are scoring for you.

Why wait 10 rounds to get a player who'll score 100+ when you can get him now?

The only possible reasons would be if you're waiting for another player to rise in price first and then do a swap later, or if you're waiting just to make sure you have enough trades to cover injuries... but if you're saving half of your trades for injuries, you might end up with the safety of a decent score, but you won't be able to employ as many guns as other teams who are making use of the market.
