3 bounces in 80m? once every 27m? is that right? what is the usual stance on running with the ball?

Talent like Sydney livewire Lewis Jetta, who showcased his sprint skills once again in last Friday night's preliminary final with an incredible running goal.
The 23-year-old bolted over 80m in approximately 10.7 seconds while bouncing the ball three times.

But he can also in theory run up to 15m before bouncing the ball and then 15m after his last bounce before the kick
ie 15m-bounce-15m-bounce-15m-bounce-15m.
So he got away with it, but it wasn't as bad as its been made out to be

I always thought there was a certain number of steps that you could take, by distance doesn't make sense, someone running at full stride would have to bounce every few seconds. Yet someone strolling with no pressure can take as many steps as he wants (less than 15m)

Well that's exactly the point. A hypothetical footy player could take 30 50cm steps before having to bounce the ball, but that is of course not realistic.

It has always been distance based. You can run 15 metres before bouncing. How you make up that 15 metres is entirely up to you. Basing this on steps is absurd for any but the most casual schoolyard game.
