How The Hell Do the Finals Work?

It's a final 6 system (which is odd with 10 teams)

Week 1: 2 elimination Finals with 3v6 and 4v5. Teams 1v2 will play in the second semi and the two week one winners will play in the first semi.

Week 2: 1st Semi between the 2 EF winners, 2nd semi between teams 1 and 2.
Winner of 2nd Semi to play in the GF, loser to play in PF.
Winner of 1st Semi to play in the PF, loser eliminated.

Week 3: Preliminary Final between 1st Semi winner and 2nd Semi Loser
Winner to GF, loser eliminated

Week 4: Grand Final between PF winner and 2nd Semi Winner.

If you win the second semi, that means you will only play 2 games in 4 weeks. Is good recovery wise, but for some teams this could cause a bit of a loss of momentum.

I can only assume its a response to the lopsided draw. In theory with a five, the third bets team in the state could miss playing finals.

Personally, I'd have preferred a three. Top of the ladder straight into the GF with a week off, 2v3 the week before. Simple, and three out of ten makes the finals elite. (And little money would be lost, in the old statewide league it wasn't until the preliminary final that crowds picked up noticeably anyway.)
A four would also have been quite reasonable, if the draw hadn't been compromised to cut down on travel. That was probably necessary, which perhaps made a final six necessary.

It makes sense with the draw the way it is that the three best teams in each region should qualify for finals, i can't see anything wrong with this.
