Was at the Prospect oval on the weekend and saw Hunter actually dominate the rucks against the roosters. His tapping is elite and silver service compared to Sauce at the moment. He hit them on the tit on most occasions or hit it to dangerous areas in the square. I made this comment in the SANFL thread last week. No wonder Wilson, the hyphen and gibbo had monstrous numbers. His marking was poor however - he had cement hands and looks to have lost a bit of touch in this area since his serious ankle injury. I would give Sauce a rest in a fortnight and let Hunter show his wares. He would not let us down on what I have seen this year.

Now if we could only get better structures in the middle and at stoppages around the ground. That's another story

I have been thinking he could be Sauce's short term replacement even next year if we cant get a guy like Lycett or Preuss.

ROB is a dinosaur. Hunter has decent tapwork but quite good around the ground. The link up and forward play we get from Sauce is extremely under rated.
ROB can not do this, Hunter can.

Watching Sauce drop marks on the weekend that literally hit him flushly on the hands was infuriating, especially when the ball then got turned over. I hate to say it, but I think we've seen his best and we are about the see a very sharp decline

Would love to see us try something different
Trying something different seems to be a very difficult step for us to take. Obviously with our current ruck situation, its clear we need to at least try something. Isn't Hunter out of contract at the end of the year?

We won't drop Sauce while Campo and Clarke are on the selection committee. I'm not aware of the process officially, but was told Pyke wanted to drop Sauce earlier in the year, but it's a democratic system and Campo and Clarko teamed up to outvote him. Sounded like BS to me though.

Sounds like BS to me too.

PS. On this bit: "We won't drop Sauce while Campo and Clarke are on the selection committee." This sounds correct. However correlation is not causation.

He's a rookie, so yes. 3rd year, so it's cut or elevate for him.

Based on this assessment, in this week please. Sauce needs to sort his s*** out whether it be injury or otherwise.

He was an emergency against Dees?

Sounds legit to me. I'm sure I've heard Pyke say something along the lines of "it's not just up to me there's a selection committee"

(Not in relation to sauce I don't think but it's clear it's a 'democracy')

He will not be considered this week against the pear but against the Giants or Roos you wwouldgive him a shot.
Sauce will probably have a dominant display this weekend removing any hope of change and we'll go into next season with the same problems.
Sauce generally needs a prod to play well. It's almost as he forgets to do it until reminded!

Who is North Adelaide's ruckman?
They used Alex Barns and Mitch Harvey. Barns is 24, but Harvey is 20 and was a 3rd round pick for the Power in the 2013 draft who never played a game for them. Harvey is more of a forward/ruck combo I think though.

They actually picked him pick #45 while we got Riley Knight with pick #46.

When we lose he trots that out!

Do you seriously think if it were purely up to Pyke players like dmac would get games?
Of course they wouldnt. Pyke was a tough player, gave his all on the field, whilst Campo and Clarke we're soft like dmac.

That's just ridiculous that the head coach can't make executive decisions.

That's what he's there for. Why not just have a coaching panel then?

Never sat well with me that Pyke was unable to bring in one or two of his own men like Walsh with Teague. Needs to put his stamp on the group.

ROB>>>>Hunter on what I've seen and I don't know where this "dinosaur" shits coming from either.
Every time I've watched ROB he is not only a competent tap Ruckman he also follows up well and quite often wins the clearance himself and is good contested mark....and he has in spades what Sauce and to a lesser degree Hunter lack, aggression at the contest and the man.The only weakness in ROB's game has been his kicking and anyone that watches the SANFL regularly will tell you he's obviously worked on that facet of his game and it has improved over his time on our list.

I think some of you including bigman need to refresh your memories...see link.

Fantastic. But he's still the worst kick on our list in a game called football.

So basically he should have dominated
