Just a hypothetical to waste some time on.
Say Essendon wanted to free up some salary cap space and were frustrated with his injury time, and I don't know, got into a big personal dispute with him, what would be your response if Essendon offered us Hird as a straight trade for Judd. Do we bite?
What if other clubs suffered a bout of collective insanity, and either Voss, Buckley, Harvey etc were all on offer for a straight across trade for the young'un?
The strange thing, is I don't think I'd accept the trade. Obviously those guys are currently far better than Chris Judd, but still, I'd prefer him and his limitless potential to a guy currently at their peak. Does that make me insane?

ah, no. it makes you smart:)

i have nothing but respect and admiration for Hird, he's amazingly talented, but he's getting on a bit. Judd is very young and just a bit special and hopefully has a long career ahead of him.
Judd is the only choice to make because we dont know how talented he is, he doesnt know how talented he is and we get to reep the benifits as he works it out:)

No Way

Judd is going to re-invent Guernsey # 3

When he retires after 5 premierships (with West Coast :D) We are going to all say "Who was Mainy?"

oi, it's gorgeous and so true (although maybe he'd need a paperbag over his head for the love-making part:) )

lol ta.. It was the product of a serious night on the piss, followed by copious quantities of caffeine to keep me awake. The mind works in mysterious ways in those circumstances.
Oh, and USAeagle, I *already* say 'who was mainy' ;)

I don't think I'd trade him for anyone. The wraps he's been getting make him out to be one of the most exciting prospects to have played the game in a while. And despite Voss, Hird, etc already being established among the games best, they aren't exactly "young" (by AFL standards that is). Judd could quite well end up as good if not better than them, and best of all he's only 18. Imaging if he hits the heights of Buckley, McLoed or Voss at the age of 21, we'd have a good 10yrs of pure class.

I'd keep Judd... whilst players like Hird etc have established themselves as class, everyone knows how good they can be.

Judd is an enigma and with every game can only get better... imagine what he'll be like when he gets 50 - 100 games under his belt :)

The only guy i would consider trading Judd for would be Matthew Lloyd...the rest no thanks. Even that though would be a tough decision. Think i would stick with Judd.

With all the hype around Judd we all seem to be forgetting poor little Kerry, he is one of my favourite players. Love the little guy, the way he gets in and under and the countless amount of times he comes up from the bottom of the pack and hands it to the umpire. What a little champ.

Kerr, Judd and Cuz...formidable midfield of the future.
