how tiring looking after a baby can be!

I have a beautiful 9 week old little boy here at present, and he is a great child. Very rarely cries and is happy as larry most the time. But the physical demands of carrying him around, remembering to make sure enough bottles are made, washing nappies, let alone the fact it takes up to 3 times as long to get ready to go out were all things of the past for me seeing as my son is just about to turn 9.

As tired as you get, when a little one smiles at you - even at 2am when they want a feed - it just melts your heart, and you can't be angry.

How any pig could ever hurt one of these beautiful creatures is beyond me.

Ahhhh cluckiness..........brings out the best in women I think.........

I thought I warned you about getting clucky. :D If I got pregnant everytime I got clucky I would have about 20 kids by now.

As to your comment about anyone being able to hurt a child, I just can't fathom it, how can anyone hurt an innocent, helpless child.

In my line of work, it's very easy to get clucky. And spending so much time with toddlers, seeing how dependent children really are on us.........I agree 100% with the statement I quoted from you, mantis.

It's not just physical though, it's emotional hurt too. I have seen a parent, whose child has just begun toilet training and doing a damn fine job, berate that child every single time he has an accident during the day. The poor kid gets so flustered it really bugs me. I love every single one of my 38 toddlers I see every week, sometimes they drive you absolutely insane, other times they make your week with something cute they say or do, or just a little milestone such as FINALLY using the toilet.

How anyone could even consider hurting a child, taking advantage of the amazing trust and dependence they have on adults, is just beyond me.

Oh and let me just add, the girls who look after the babies all day every day deserve a damn award lol. I can happily admit I don't have it in me. :) Toddlers yes, babies no.

LOL I agree, I found looking after my kids when they were babies was hard as, all they do is eat s*** & cry, but once they become toddlers they are so interesting, watching them learinig to talk & responding to you when you talk to them is fantastic.

Then again, you have toilet training and learning possessiveness to deal with. LOL

I loved today though, coming back from lunch, I opened the door and heard a bunch of little voices yell 'Jacqui Jacqui Jacqui' and then stood round for 10 mins while 18 little pairs of arms wrapped themselves around me. :D The kids were so good today, being careful coz I'd had a 'sore heart' (chest pain) lol I seriously wouldn't trade my job for anything in the world. :D

AAAAWWW neither would I Jacs, the look of love & trusting in kids eyes is the most precious thing in the world. :D

I was a single father when my daughter was an infant. I worked 24 hours shifts, and then took care of her all day...for the next five years. I feel the pain. :D

I cried when she finally started kindergarten. Not because she was beginning a new, significant phase in her life - but tears of joy because I could finally sleep! Peace,

Hey, even at 16 us girls get clucky! :D all my cousins are younger than me, and I have numerous baby cousins. I absolutely love babies...if one of my aunts gives me the baby, I won't give it back for ages :D Usually has to be forcefully removed :D I don't want to have kids for AGES of course, hello I'm only 16, but in a way I can't wait. :S though horror stories about labour and sore breasts and no sleep....not helping!! :D

Wait until you're 17. At least! :D And don't think about having sore breasts, think about having big breasts :D
