Hi Bombers,

I'm doing a ABC radio/blog project this year where i am going to games with fans of each of the 16 AFL clubs so that i can pick a team (long story read it at the blog!). Basically, each week i need someone to call in to the ABC in Melbourne and invite me along with them, their families, their grandmother, their mates, their prison buddies or whoever they usually go to the footy with.

Last week (the first week) i went with some Roos fans to the 'G and this week the plan is to go with Essendon fans to the Dome on Sunday to see the game against Freo. Usually the calling in bit happens on Fridays but it will be Thursday (tomorrow) this week due to Easter.

All the details are at my blog at whatsmyteam.wordpress.com ... and anyone is encouraged to leave comments there about why i should (or shouldn't!) ultimately pick Essendon (or any other team).

If you are interested in actually taking me, then you'll need to be willing to have a mike thrust in front of your face about why you support and why i should support the bombers.

We even managed to score an invite to the Roos rooms last week - although i am not sure whether the bombers are quite as desperate for members :)

Thanks Danzan... the club almost lost me there...

For anyone who is tempted I promise to do my share of runs to the bar (making no promises about shouting a round until i see how many people we are talking about going with):)

For what its worth, last week the Roos media people invited all three of us (me and the 2 people who took me to the game) down to the rooms before hand and the club's CEO invited us all back down for free beers with the boys in the event of a victory.

For 3/4 of the game i thought i was on to a pretty good thing with that, you all know why that never happened. No idea whether the EFC people will lay something on or not - if hulld is anything to go by, it seems they're a lot nicer over at the Roos...

I'll just act like i didn't hear that from hulld and i'll try not to hold it against the club. Hulld: if you don't want to do it, no one is making you..!

So you'll be standing up the back in front of the locker room then. Not quite the spread the kangas layed out but at least you'll get a true experience of what its like for normal supporters (well by normal I mean the grog squad:D )
I certainly hope you're not adverse to some good old fashion swearing & abusing everything not in an Essendon jumper! Enjoy

Yep, i did it and had a great afternoon all round. Although i do appear to have come down with a shocking cold i am sure it is not related to the 20 litres of beer i drank on sunday arfternoon.
