Well actually they arent on nuclear subs, the yanks are miles ahead in quietness and engineering. On diesel subs, the russians know their stuff ie the kilo class. The hanks dont do these as they dont have a need. The brits do a diesel pretty good too. Unfortunately funding for the russian navy is nearly non existant now and they scavenge parts from other subs.
Good points. You got me there Tick.:D

Wish I had that for lunch instead of my turkey salad wrap :D

The Collins disel/electric submarine is a Swedish design...built here...that's probably why it doesnt work properly...
Design fault...it cant carry enough coins onboard for the electric meter box...for fear of sinking...

Yeah the swedes have their own that work ok. The collins sonar keeps looking for blonde enemies! With all the money we've spent we could have bought 5 kilo's.

I'm assuming people realise that we or any other club for that matter are not going to be using the same player as a sub in all 22 rounds. In fact it's highly unlikely any one player will get used as a sub for more than say half a dozen or so games.

3 or 4 players are candidates for sub but from round 3 or 4 it maybe the way to reintroduce foley slowly. Probably 1 or 2 games at Coburg followed by a three or even four week run from the Sub spot. Could do big damage late in a game.

Ellis played the ideal subs game last night - tough, hard, quick and desperate - was flat out for 25 minutes.
Although I think it may be a waste if he was a sub too often.
Rather than looking for a particular player to be sub it appears that Hardwick may be rotating the sub week to week - it's gotta be better for the team than resting them altogether.
Great last quarter from Brandon!

Ellis, Knights, Vlastuin, Petterd, White, Nahas, Arnott & McIntosh will all share sub duties this year.

It's the new back pocket from the previous era .
The last chance before being dropped or where you play when cutting your teeth .

Huge! There were a couple of contests late in the game where both he and Conca threw themselves in against bigger bodies knowing that it may have ended their night and they just went in without fear. Game savers.

Ellis was quite influential after coming on - one of the reasons we got across the line.
But there is no such thing as an ideal sub ... the sub just needs to go 100 miles an hour like Ellis did and make every post a winner.
Obviously some guys struggle picking up the tempo when coming on (Nahas the week before battled), but they just have to throw themsleves in at everything!
For the player, it's a chance to earn four quarters the next week, which Ellis would have!
