This is of course assuming we were all good players with promise

If you got drafted by any club other than the one you support, who would it be?

For me it would be Hawthorn as if i'd got drafted i'd want to get away from Perth and all the back-slapping and hero status that gets thrust upon draftees immediately, just so I could focus on footy entirely and not know so many people as well as the ones who leech off your status. Also, by the time i'd broken into the team I think they would be a finals contender.

who else?

I'm a 32 year old with a dodgy knee but a Carlton scout was at the local park watching me have a kick around with my daughter.

I think I'm still a chance.

Seriously, I'd play for Freo. If I was any good they'd trade me and I might end up at the Dogs.

I think you're flattering yourself. He was obviously eyeing off your daughter to see if she could pull on a guernsey for the navy blues.

Hi Mr recruiter

Its a pleasure to meet you and I have heard fine things about your club. You have a great coach and excellent training facilities. I also understand the finest minds have been employed in the search for that miniscule edge that will gain your club the ultimate in football ... a Premiership flag. I would love to be a part of that and hopefully in October my name will be the one called out first by your coach. I wont let you down. I look at myself as a one club player , I think loyalty is a dying thing in AFL circles and I wish to revive that oft forgotten ideal

Yours Truly

I'd choose the weagles & accidentally get in Judd's way whenever he tries to get the ball, when we play against the Bombers. :D

If I couldn't drafted by the tig's then i would love to drafted by the pies.

I would then Drink drive and make sure I got caught, take recreational drugs, punch a chick for a Taxi, and prounce around like a fairy on a show called dancing with the stars. Then I would do as many bicep curls I could possibly do and get the most sexiest arms and pretend I'm a KP forward and play up the ground to get a kick and play 150 games for the lowest return from a forward in VFL/AFL history. But before all that I i'll pretend I've lost all interest in the game and get coaxed back.

Then I'll go on and help keep the pies record alive by loosing a premiership EVERY 4.4 years or there about's.

Then I'l become the pies coach down the track and be promoted to be on Grumpy old men when I'm not even Old (investment).................................................

THEN I'll

Realistically if you support a side there is no way you would ever imagine wanting to play for another. If you got draughted by a side other than the one you supported that is another matter. In that case you make the best of that opportunity and you would defenitely put you heart there. Well if there was another side I would say Swans :o . I used to go and watch most of their games when I lived in Sydney 15 odd years ago!

Are many draftees these days literally "passionate" supporters of any clubs, speaking serioulsy if they were I thought it would be a little difficult to play for anyone other than your own club, even though I know you would have to.
I personally don't think many kids you make it these days are huge supporters, not 100%, but not many, what do you guys think

Too late for me even if I could actually play which I couldn’t. In this hypothetical world of youth, ability and choice:

I couldn’t bring myself to be a Carlton supporter so they would be at the bottom of the list. I wouldn’t mind living in Perth in which case it would have to be WCE. You couldn’t possibly want to end up at Freo. Brisbane would also be a great place to live. Adelaide would be at the bottom of the AFL destinations and probably Sydney next. Melbourne clubs would be easiest I guess but then I’d have to switch allegiance to a club I grew up disliking.

List of priorities if it wasn't Brisbane:

1. Sydney (closest to home) and best lifestyle after Brissie.

2. Fremantle

3. West Coast (two WA teams for a similar lifestyle to Brisbane)

4. Collingwood (try and take them down from the inside, like stealing stationary or something)

5. Kangaroos - may get to come back and live on the Gold Coast in a couple of years

6. Hawthorn

7. Melbourne (you wouldn't have any of the "riff raff" supporters)

8. Geelong - one team town could go either way

9. Carlton - possiblility of some "under the counter" deals

10. Essendon

11. St Kilda

12. Western Bulldogs

13. Richmond - would want to play finals. Also don't particularly want to get spat on.

14 and 15. Adelaide and Port Adelaide - i would like to be able to drink the water and see some night-life. And its Adelaide .... urgh!

Possibilty for some hot tail would be endless in Perth :thumbsu:

AFL footballer in a 2 team town
Football crazy state

My answer would be WCE or would love to stay in Melbourne then I'd say maybe Melbourne, Geelong would be alright.

Would be devistated if Crows and Power picked me up, if I was a gun I'd sign a 1 year deal and nominate for the PSD as soon as possible ;)

Wouldn't be too keen on the Swans either, don't care much for Sydney, Brisbane is alright

Collingwood, as they wouldn't ask me to take paycuts for the good of the team. Also, more media exposure, and if I have my manager spread rumours of me knocking back attempts by other clubs to acquire my services, I'll be a good old boy for life, even if I turn out pretty ordinary.

Second choice, Cows. Pots of money again, and if its known that I'm a Port supporter, then staying loyal to the Cows should again give me a good chance of being on the Do Not Bag list, no matter how crapulent I may be.

Third choice, West Coast. Money, money, money. I could block for Judd my entire career, how easy would that be? Then I could drop back to play defence behind the league's best midfield.

Fourth choice, Essendon. Good money security, OK colours, Sheedy is more inclined to hang on to high-draft rabble than other coaches, so again I could be fairly crap and still get a gig.

Fifth choice, Freeeemantle. As long as I look like I'm not playing to the best of my ability, and keep tantalisingly looking like I have more potential, I can get a game there indefinitely.

Last choice, Da Blues. No money security, officials will bag you in the media if you don't take a paycut, no talent to hide behind, no finals prospects, dwindling fans, dwindling existence.
