we may be humble supporters but we all have opinions. I

WOuldn't move Lloyd to CHF best ff in comp
Blood walsh as a back pocket (like wakernean)
Blood Courtney/ laycock @ CHf
develop strategies to win clearances (easier said then done)
kill fletch if he gets suspened again ;)
Blood cupido into midfield can't sutstain consistency in forward pocket
move Mcveigh up into midfield as speedy tagger put solomon down back (makes to many clangers **** shot for goal)
give Mcphee tagger role
don't play murphy unless he gets consitent BOG for Bendigo
give richards (if fit enough) the job on the likes of tarrant i.e what Jacobs did
get lights @ windy hill and train @ night in the rain God knows we need the practice

id win the premiership :D
sheeds should consider it

don't play murphy unless he gets consitent BOG for Bendigo

Id see how his attitude is pre-season. It'd be waste to have a man with his talent in the twos.

I have said Walsh would be good in a back pocket for a few months now. He moves a lot like gavin and has plenty of speed. Port killed us in that final running back towards goal with pace and we didnt have anybody quick enough to catch them.

Cupes in the midfield will happen eventually.

Laycock and courtney Johns will terrorise opposition defences for the next ten years.

As for Murphy i think he knows this is his last chance. If he plays somewhere near his best then he is easily in our best 22 and adds some much needed class to our midfield.

Agreed, although this does depend on how Laycock/Johns develop. Sheeds is well aware of our tendency to fall over at HF, and so he did flag his intentions late in the year when Johns was promoted. He said something along the lines of putting Johns in the goal square and moving Lloyd to CHF.

Blood walsh as a back pocket (like wakernean)

Walsh did play a lot of his U18 football off a half back flank, but he tended to play more as a loose man. He needs to bulk up a little though.

Blood Courtney/ laycock @ CHf

This is primary, and I think we'll see it happen immediately in the pre-season cup. I think eventually we'll end up with a FF/CHF rotation between Lloyd and one of Johns/Laycock.

develop strategies to win clearances (easier said then done)

JJ, MJ, and Hird are all very good inside players. We just need better players outside of the pack to receive the ball. Guys like Reynolds, Winderlich, and Walsh need to step up here. Hopefully Rama makes a full recovery. And hopefully Alvey and Murphy can make an impact.

kill fletch if he gets suspened again ;)

Hopefully Hunt and Henneman can hold down a defensive role.

Blood cupido into midfield can't sutstain consistency in forward pocket

Forward pockets are always going to be inconsistent, but you're right, if he isn't getting opportunities or not making the most of them, then he needs to have a second string to his bow. He's certainly got the ability.

move Mcveigh up into midfield as speedy tagger put solomon down back (makes to many clangers **** shot for goal)

I'd keep Spike in the back pocket for now, that's what he did best this year. We've already got Peverill and Bullen as taggers (although neither are particularly quick).

Solomon was at his best playing off half back, so I agree. He can play tall and small which is very handy.

give Mcphee tagger role

McPhee already had plenty of defensive jobs this year. Like Solomon, he can play tall and small so he gives the coaching staff plenty of options. He's also quick and skillful, so he'd be very good on a wing. His size and ability overhead would cause a lot of trouble for many other players.

don't play murphy unless he gets consitent BOG for Bendigo

Murphy is really just an impact player. If he's hot, he can tear the opposition apart. The best bet would be to play him off a HFF where he can bomb through goals from 50m out.

give richards (if fit enough) the job on the likes of tarrant i.e what Jacobs did

Richards is easily fit enough. He's got a great work ethic. He'd be good playing a defensive role on hard leading forwards like Tarrant. Similarly, he'd also be good playing an offensive role similar to the way Tarrant plays.

get lights @ windy hill and train @ night in the rain God knows we need the practice

If only... It's just a mental issue though. Our main problem is our decision making, not really our skills.

What about keepiong Spike back and putting Welsh into the midfield with solomon back.

I like Welsh in defence. He's tough and gives us good run.

B: McVeigh Fletcher Wellman
HB: Solomon Lucas Welsh

That looks good to me.

Welsh breaks free into the midfield even though he plays in backline. If I recall correctly he had about 9 inside 50s in the St. Kilda game this year. He's in the perfect spot for his ability, and should play out his career there.

As a matter of interest how do you pick selective quotes out of a single post and reply to them one by one as stevo has done?

You just apply the necessary code where you need it.

Basically, you have to do it manually. ;)

This would be a ridiculous move IMO. Lloyd and the Cupido are the only (afl ready) players that know where the goals are ! Without him up there we lack goal kicking ability. Robert Shaw has said it before, we have been waiting for years for a decent small foward to come through and kick some goals and now we have one. Why move him when our midfield is already deep?

Would you prefer he was benched during the games where he is ice cold in the forward line? Cupido is fantastic when he is on fire, but lets face it, he does have his off days where he can't get near the thing. And the only place you can put him on these days is the bench. All people are saying is when we are 10 goals up at half time, how about giving Cupido a genuine midfield role where he is at the center bounces, stoppages, etc. This will give him, and the team more versatility.

Spot on pornstar. Needs to go to the midfield to take his game to another level IMO

Keep away from the Carlton Recruiting team!!! Who will no doubt burst out laughing to his face when they see him due to his ability to actually give us something back for Murphy and Allan.

You got dudded LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

If Allan and murphy flop then it was no big loss as McGrath couldnt get a game for us and pick 60 usually nets you an average footballer.

I doubt we would have used pick 60 anyway.

dont know whats been posted... anyway i think Essendon are in an uneniable possie right at the moment with our absolute champion Leaders (Hird Lloyd Fletcher Misiti Mercuri all reaching the end of thier careers... Despite this the new kids coming through are all stars... what has to happen for Essendon to keep its Finals record alive next year is for Hird Lloyd and Fletcher to play 55/66 games of the homeandaway season. If this can happen the young kids will be able to slip nicley into the team appear to have imediate impact and be ready for when our champions (bar Lloyd Retire in a year or 2s time. If this doesnt happen our young kids will be thrown in 2 early and 2 hard at 2 early a stage of development and are likley to be hurt in the long run...

These are my Humble opinions so for Next year...

Hird to go to Half Forward flank.
Lloyd Stay Full forward (possibly a half FF half CHF)
Johns CHF
Winderlinch to have as much game time as possible
Darren and Andrew Welsh to play midfield
pick 6 who ever he is to get 1-3 game late in season if finals are assured
and to bring either Henemen up to scratch or scratch him bring Laycock and other through to back up hille incase Allen fails to come through

Thanks for listening to me blab

Of the players who are nearing the end of their career, we'll miss Hird a great deal. We'll miss Fletcher, but not as much. It's strange, we've learned to deal with Fletcher's absence, but not Hird's. We won't miss Mercuri or Misiti.

I also think we'll miss Wellman a fair bit, given that we traded away Jacobs. Danny would have taken over from Wellman. Now we've got to look to someone else.
