Damn I have to catch my plane in 11 hours to Melbourne, in the mean time I have to get some sleep, take Kenny to the doggy motel & go to the supermarket to get ciggies & chuppa chups for the trip, plus ask my neighbours to collect my mail.

Maybe I should stay up all night, I am not tired but know I have to sleep in case I fall asleep & miss my plane.

Does anyone else get over excited when they are going on holiday?

Please some help, I usually catch the red eye special, this is the first flight I have got at lunchtime.

Hmmmm mantis I'd love to give you some advice but you first need to tell me what a holiday is 'cause I haven't been on one in such a long time I forgot what they are. ;)

AAAWWW poor Hawker, that is so sad, I know what holidays are, but I am just not used to catching a plane at lunch time, usually catch the red eye special which leaves at midnight, so I usually party all night, sleep in till the afternoon, have a few drinks with mates & then catch the plane, this is just to weird.

I am also a little bit more excited because my wonderful boss gave me $500 as a bonus.

OOps got to add, Lioness I have $500 I didn't expect, how much partying are we going to do now. :D

Best to have a few hours sleep, especially if you've got some partying to do in Melbourne tonight. If you've had a sleepless night and then some activity tonight which involves the consumption of significant quantities of alcoholic beverages:D , you'll be buggered on Sunday morning.
You still planning to go to the Cricketers before the Anzac Day game? I arrive in Melbourne that morning and I've got some time to kill before the game.;)

It's only 4 hours Rip, yes I can just manage it as long as I have some Chuppa chups to suck on.

Bomber Spirit yes I will be at the Cricketers with Lioness & a few other bigfootyites before the match, after the game probably the MCG pub.

Life is beautiful. :D

HAVE A SAFE TRIP BABE!!!!!! *hugs* See you soon!!!!!! :D

Good luck, Mantis-- have fun on holiday.

And if one can't get excited before taking a trip of any sort, then they would have to have their pulse checked to see if it's still working. So you're completely absolved if you are unable to hide your unbridled enthusiasm. :)

On the non-specific sub-topic of sleep, it depends where you're going on holiday. From the sounds of it, a four-hour flight from here would put you in New Zealand, or thereabouts (which I did myself about a month ago), and you can always get a nap on the plane. That's what it's there for, right? :D

Cheers,
William

I'm not attending the match but will be with mantis at all drinking spots. :D Hope to see you there Bomber Spirit, and see you in Williamstown too? :)

Can't wait. :D

Anyone else who'll be around, since mantis won't be online, PM me and we'll arrange to meet up. :D Or post here and we'll be in touch, for those too lazy to PM. :D

Bugger, I'm too lazy to PM. :)

Yep, Bomber Spirit's first Victorian trip of the 2002 season is nearly upon us. Tomorrow night after work I'll be jumping on the overnight bus to Melbourne for a night of excitement and insomnia.
The highlight of the trip of course will be the Essendon v Collingwood game on Thursday. But there'll be other football moments too, I'll also be in attendance at St Kilda v Sydney at Colonial on Saturday night and plan to head out to Williamstown for the VFL game that afternoon.

Before the game is the obligatory drinking session, and for Thursday I'll be sinking a few pleasurable alcoholic beverages at the Cricketers in Punt Rd. Hope to meet a few BigFooty-ites there - particularly Lioness and Mantis, but hopefully some others as well.
At half-time you can go for a walk outside the ground. I often do at the MCG - make sure you get a passout ticket from the gate attendant when you do. I'll go round to near gate 7 next to the light tower; and I'll be wearing an Essendon jumper and scarf, a white cricket floppy hat and I'll have a red and gold Northern Spirit soccer scarf hanging from my belt; so if you see anyone matching that description it's probably me so feel free to say hello and introduce yourself.:)

Just dropped in to say HI, see you at the Cricketers whoever else is going, I will be there around 11-11.30am.

After the game, will probably go to the MCG for a couple & then the Vaucluse if anyone else is going there.

Cheers
