What a big game this will be. Lets just set the context

- We have won 3 in a row
- We are playing the team on the bottom of the ladder
- We have beaten 2 top four sides in the last week
- The media has written quite a few positive articles about us
- We are firm favourites to win
- We are missing our 2nd best contested ball winner.
- We are playing for a top 8 spot

This game is the typical game that you will see flat, uninspired fremantle football. It will be a true test of how good we are if we can come out and win this game.

What made me even more nervous was the fact the Raiders in the NRL were in exactly the same position yesterday and got well and truly beaten.

I am predicting a very close game.

No J.Carr, Hasleby and Headland. Not to mention Grover and Thornton. And possibly Haddrill from our best 22. And its at our bogie ground.

Even so, we should still acount for Carlton if we are serious about making the 8.

Carlton haven't beaten us since 2001. We have never played them at the Dome.

We have won the last 7 games against them by an average of 5 goals. Doesn't make me any less nervous though.

Todays game and next weeks has all the makings of bad news. I hope we're switched on, a percentage boost be nice but I'll settle for a win by a point.

If we win, it will be a good sign that we've matured and can maintain the intensity and desire.

Direct footy is what will win the game today. Carlton will be caught on the back foot each time if we just play down the centre of the ground and deliver well to our forwards. If Whitnall gets the job on Pav he won't be able to contain him and Matt normally does well against the Blues, so hears hoping he kicks a bag.

If we win this one it will be a very good win no matter what the naysayers say.

If Dennis pulls that match up we will win by 10 goals.

But I dont think that he will, so Freo by 5 or 6.

I'm much more nervous about next week. Hawthorn are a real bogey side for us.

And although we have to do it ourselves and not rely on other results, it's great to see the Kangas off to a good start today. Would help us out a fair bit if they upset Geelong.

Getting flogged everywhere but the scoreboard atm. C'mon guys pull the finger out.

We've done that to most teams this year, dominate them, except the scoreboard. That's why we've lost 6 games by 18 points or under. And in those games we've had as many opportunities as the opposition.

Our inaccuracy is the story of our year. :o

That was a horrible game of footy to watch. Especially that 2nd quarter. Dockers should've won by more than 10 goals. Next week needs to be the percentage boost.

Percentage isn't looking too important with Geelong going down and needing 2 more wins than us over the last 5.. still anything possible though.

Our percentage is so far behind those ahead of us that it wont have any bearing at all in that regard.

you got the 4 points at the dome where u dont play that well, regardless of the opposition- time to move on and concentrate on belting the hawks next week

didnt they beat u at subi last yr?

Would be handy to get it up near/above Geelong's though!

I didn't see the game as being too bad but the last quarter was horrible. The guys certainly didn't look sharp yet they still managed to lead by over 40 points for quite a while. Next week's game will be very tough. The Hawk's always take it up to us and we have no Carr, Headland and probably Longmuir. If we do win I think it will be a massive achievement, 5 wins in a row and the club's second final's appearance. We just need to make sure we play good, hard footy and not get too far ahead of ourselves.
