Smorgon had gotten back in.

Well done to all those who voted him out you set the ball rolling.

To those that voted for for him, thank god you were in the minority :thumbsu:

It was vital Smorgon left...
He had no Carlton passion...

The money was always going to flow back in when he left...

But sometimes you have to go one step backwards to go a few forwards.. and thats what has happened.

We know what we need to do and where we need to be .. and the club had not been structured for the future and it will be now...
You can bet your bottom dollar that the Carlton model will be the most modern of all now...

There will be nothing done in half measures.... money will not be an obstacle in taking the club to cutting edge.

Best of all we will be the envy of other clubs.. other supporters and other players again...
But yeah.. Smorgon had to go!

But yeah.. Smorgon had to go!

We had become like an antiquated institution.

Old men sitting around on verandahs sipping vermouth still thinking queen victoria was in charge and we still ruled the world.

We need someone to kick our arses into the 21st century or we will forever be chasing our tails.

I've seen your comments on the main board THS and it is amazing how St.Kilda and Collingwood supporters are still bagging us, when truth be told, they are absolutely sh1ting themselves with the thought of Carlton being a power, both on and off the field, once again.

As far as I am concerned, they can all go and get stuffed. We may not get the on-field results this year, but the whole competition better look out in '08. We are on the way back baby, and nobody is going to stop us - NOBODY!

When theyre ********ting themselves from us it means were back...

Were not back completely... but they all know whats in store...

There is no club that understands how to win more than us... (Maybe essendon) but we have a particular style of doing it thats coming back now...
were always bigger ... badder and have that swagger when were switched on.
We attract the best players... we attract the most influential people.. and we attract all the jealousy...

The people that are going to be in charge wont be doing things in halves..

and that Pratt V sign out the front of Princes Park is a hint...he isnt doing this to do it in half measures.

Everyone knows it...

Tomorrow he will have put his team into the club to begin clean it up...
But the whole feel around the place has changed.. you can feel it... and ask the players...;)

I haven't been to the club since the AGM. Could you please elaborate on the Pratt V sign?

Do you have any names of the team that will be going in, or do I have to wait like everyone else to read about it in the papers?

That picture of Pratt outside our clubrooms, doing the V signs, made me get butterflies.

I've never had so much faith in a leader of a club before, like i have now :)

Thanks for clearing that up for me AWG. I wasn't quite sure what THS was getting at.

I think that pic was in yesterday's Herald HBF.

It was brilliant. Had Pratt with his back to the doors, he was doing the V sign with both hands in the air, and behind him, all you could see was something like "Carlton Football Club" or whatever it is on the doors to the rooms :)

Very good pic.

(Cough-good-one-to-cough-have-as-your-cough-avatar-cough);)

I'll see what I can do AWG. Leave it with me

That is exactly right, every club in the AFL is sh1tting themselves at the moment, they all keep bagging Carlton, but deep down they know its only a matter of time before the sleeping giant is awoken.

I only got my ballot paper the day before the cut off. I didn't trust the fax option so I drove down to the club from Kinglake and handed the envelope to the woman at the front desk personally before going in to see the cups in the social room.

Right now I feel pretty chuffed at how it is all working out. Although I have just found out I am going to be in Tassie on the 24th. F***!!!

Damn that sucks :(

Only one place to be on 24th of Feb and that is TELSTRA DOME - 6.10PM

:D

It's a huge relief that he's gone.
Sure he came in during a rough period, but Smorgon didn't demonstrate any real leadership wualities, and did nothing to control a very leaky board.

Blues now need to stabilise at board level, on field will take care of itself.
I don't think we are as bad on field as our 2006 ladder position demonstrates.
