I've recently got in contact with a company that make cricket bats in India. Im looking at possibly starting up my own bat brand and selling these bats on the Internet and to local people. What, if any, fees/taxes will I have to pay to get these goods into the country from India or any other country. The shipment i was looking at, was going to be around about a $1000 mark. (I sent an email to the ATO about 3 weeks ago which was forwarded to a higher place. I sent a 2nd one a few days ago as well with no luck.) Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

The Australian Customs website says it all but did you clearly understand everything? Were your questions thoroughly answered? The import and export industry can be tricky especially if this is your first time. If you are planning to import goods from overseas, you might as well enroll in a reputable training institute. You need a great helping hand to start importing goods from overseas. First, there are many businessmen who have had unfortunate deals with wrong suppliers and secondly, you have to be fully knowledgeable of all the rules with regards to importation and exportation. Check out My Import Label's training courses. They even give tons of tips and would let you search through thousands of legit suppliers.
