Any listeners? :)

Awesome melodic/metalcore band from Sweden, I've been listening to their latest release, this year's Come Clarity and was just wondering which BFers rate these guys. :thumbsu:

Hopefully they'll tour here late '06/early 07. :)

Absolutely f*cking awesome band, can't beleive the stuff they come up let alone how well they play it. Can't get enough of their Clayman album, one of my favourite listens ever.

Used to be one of my favourite bands, got me into extreme metal, but don't really listen to em anymore since I grew out of my metal phase.

Having said that, everything up to and including Clayman was gold, after that they tried to commercialise and ended up getting damn boring...

That sums up In Flames and Soilwork nicely.

I can still listen to Jesters Race though. Fused accoustic parts into melodic death metal - this album was groundbreaking. It's a pity they took the easy road of commercialism instead. I bought the dvd and I was just appalled at Anders' vocals. They are horrible, especially the clean vocals.

If they are anything like Soilwork live (I saw them when they toured a few years ago) - watch the dvd instead.

Like what I've heard...which isnt that much. Hopefully I can get my hands on a few more songs. Any suggestions? (for good songs to get..)

Moonshield
The Jester's Dance (that was my ringtone for 2 years)
Artifacts Of The Black Rain

Note: They are the first 3 songs of The Jester Race, so you might as well get the whole thing.

Spot on. When In Flames where pure melodical death metal they where at their best. Instead of being followers they were creating a great sub genre of death metal. I still consider The Jesters Race one of the best cds i have ever heard in my life.
The funny thing about in flames(and soilwork) is that today new metalcore bands such as Trivium and Shadows Fall are more popular then them, and actually better then both In Flames and Soilwork now. In Flames last 3 cds have been total trash.

I suggest you check out Stand Ablaze by In Flames. The best song by In Flames(in my opinion anyway). It made me a huge fan of them, inspired me to pick uo guitar and it was also one of the first songs i learned to play.
