I love these.. I'm usually up pretty late when most of them start showing and even though none of them have inspired me to even think about buying the product/service I still can't stop myself from even half watching them. The tactics they use and the way almost any product can become a spectacular invention even when it's only a toaster with a clock in the side always gets a laugh from me.

Anyway I'm just wondering what's your favourite one? I'm sure you've all seen at least one or two.

I like the one for the Showtime BBQ where he says "I was looking at a couple of mail order magazines and they have BBQs in here ranging between $150 and $2000!" then goes on to say "Well you won't pay $2000 for mine not even $1000" and then the actual selling price is almost $800 + $30 P&H. If they have them for $150 why would anyone buy his for almost $850?
Then there's the lady in the 'crowd' who is dressed like she's stuck in the 50's it's classic alot better than Big Brother Up Late :D

When there is nothing but crap on the other stations i watch em for a while.
Some items actually look good. The overeacting especially with the miracle knife and juicer puts some of our soapies to shame.
However when i watch i have a guess at what is a realistic price.
Sauy 30 bucks or so.If they can come close to my guess i'd buy it. Not once have they come within 100 percent over the top of my guess. Pity some of them do seem good.

And i'd love to order and say forget the shipping packing and postage,i'll pick it up myslef

Yeah some of the stuff is pretty good.

That spanner is pretty good, seen it on Ten a few times. The miracle knife is hilarious.

The most pis funny one is the rotisserie oven thingo. When they say that "Turn it on, leave it, forget it" line, and the whole crowd gets in on it.

On principle I'd never buy anything where they don't include the cost of postage and handling in the price, it's not like you can avoid it.

Only 3 payments of $33.33 plus $3o p&h

that's $130 in anyones language and if that's not what they're telling me the price is I'll just assume they're trying to rip me off. Not to mention---

but wait there's more, just gives you longer to think what you would actually pay.

Show me your product and tell me your price.

I'd still bonk the middle chick out of Little House on the Prairie for what it's worth ;)

I love the Miracle Blades man! Chef Tony rocks. They seriously look like a good addition to any kitchen. That Total Gym looks pretty good too, along with that spanner thing.

Can't stand 'em. Worse still, every Sat. afternoon when I'm at the gym, someone will be watching that damned infomercial on Ch 10. It is repeated EVERY week.

If I see that segment on the coloured-display mobile phones or Glenn McGrath spruiking that loan scheme, I'll scream, I swear.

Knives that never need sharpening, have a recessed handle special grips for chopping and a whole bunch of other stuff. You can even cut wait for it arazona sheet rock! They get some guy in to cut wholes in a wall with it for window fittings and stuff then Chef Tony takes the same knife and cuts some stuff with it. It's pretty funny that he's selling you 13 knives when 8 of them are the same steak knife :D

love 'em !!

always find myself watching these late at night.. hehe..

all time fav?

gotta be those frickin microwave oven bags ! haha

I never knew them as infomercials rather as a cure for insomnia.

They actually are part of the reason I'm in the pattern of staying up late, besides the computer all there is to do at that time, presuming your not tired of course, is to look out for new infomercials :D

The Footy Show is a Collingwood Infomercial/Advertorial

Now that I think of it - just about every piece of crap programming on Channel 9 is an infomercial of some shape.

Hey how about the fishing lure! ,
shows a great set of gear yet all they can reel in is a recently deceased fish, as much movement as the audience reaching for the phone for this product!

I love em - I don't wanna watch but I always seem to get sucked in. It's the way the shows are presented that I enjoy - the people are so passionate about the products they are trying to sell (usually a heap of crap!)

The best ones are those where they say "and that's not all. You also get an instruction manual ABSOLUTELY FREE!" Mighty nice of them, don't you think? :D

You always get something for "free" and you can always tell it's a crappy product they tried to sell off and failed so instead they use it to try and make another crappy product look less crap. Really it's a little insulting to us viewers but then again.. they are infomercials after all.
