Lachlan McKirdy report via Code Sports - Giants captain Toby Greene is in a race against time to be fit for State of Origin next month as GWS’ star recruit Clayton Oliver faces some time of the sidelines after a pre-season injury.

In Summary:
  • Oliver's injury not expected to push back his pre-season too much after a strong December. Kingsley reportedly does not sound overly concerned saying that’s put him back maybe a week or two.
  • Toby Greene is set to be “touch-and-go” for the AFL Origin match next month and was running laps freely Wednesday morning. Kingsley confident he is tracking well.
  • Hogan is also recovering well from successful foot surgery after last season, but Kingsley expects that the Coleman Medallist is still a fortnight away from rejoining the group.
As always, it's reported both Greene and Hogan still needs to meet BAU criteria to be signed off to be ready to play.

Looks like it's time to start this thread up for the year.

Clarry missed 80% of the 2024 pre season and rocked up to round 1 off the street with a near BOG performance against the Dogs.

Nothing to be concerned about in the absolute slightest. In fact if there was a number below 0, that should be the concern level.
Beg to differ, it's a moderate concern given his history of injuries in recent years.

Stringer, Hogan, Oliver, Greene, Daniels all injured. Kelly and Jones out for first half of the season at least.

This is before any real contact stuff.

Stringer in particular… his body is cooked.

All those injuries except for Greene and Oliver were from last year.

As far as I'm aware, only Jones and Kelly are currently not expected to be fit for the start of the season. So it's not necessarily as bad as it might look on paper.

Hogan on track with his expected recovery, Jones ahead of schedule.

We'll be crazy if we risk either Jesse or Toby for the Origin game though.
