Could anyone give me an update on any of the injuries?
I'm a QLDer so haven't seen the match, must say I don't think I'll be watching it.

I must say, the prospect of Cameron Ling captaining the side next week is tantalising.

Lots of injury news in the Monday morning editions of The Age, but here's the details of what pertains to the GFC.

Warning, this will not be very pretty...

Injured trio adds to Cats' horror start

The full extent of Geelong's horror first round will become more clear in the next few days, with injuries expected to sideline key trio Brenton Sanderson, Ben Graham and Darren Milburn.

Graham, who clutched at his left shoulder after a ruck contest in the third quarter of Saturday night's 61-point thrashing by St Kilda, will have ultrasound treatment on the arm today.

Geelong football manager Garry Davidson said there was no structural damage, but that a muscular strain across the top of Graham's shoulder and chest would probably cost him at least one week.

Davidson was more optimistic that Milburn would overcome a wrenched left knee in time to play against Carlton this week, but conceded that a one-week break was more likely for the defender.

Sanderson, who injured his calf against the Saints, is looking at missing at least one match.

The absence of Sanderson, the Cats' stand-in skipper while Steven King recovers from an injured Achilles, would have Cameron Ling promoted to the captaincy.

King, who had surgery in mid-February, remains on track for a round-four or five return, when forward Steve Johnson should also be ready to play his first game.

Johnson is recovering from a broken ankle he received when jumping a fence during the off-season, but has been troubled by bone bruising in the other ankle.

Hawthorn will monitor young midfielder Nick Ries, knocked out in the first quarter of Saturday's match against Melbourne after a collision with Demon Daniel Ward's hip.

Ries was taken off on a stretcher after the incident, which is likely come under video investigation, but the Hawks were encouraged that he was able to walk around the dressing room after the game.

Melbourne will keep an eye on defender Clint Bizzell, who injured his ribs against the Hawks but was cleared yesterday of fractures.

Brisbane Lions midfielder Luke Power is likely to miss at least three weeks with a medial ligament strain in his left knee.

Sydney will monitor forward Nick Davis, who jarred his hip in Saturday night's narrow loss to the Lions, falling awkwardly after kicking the last of his four first-half goals.

The article doesn't say anything in there about Gary Ablett Jr.'s injury status, but it's no secret that he has a groin injury. I even heard or read some rumours that it could be osteitis pubis, which could set him back for up to four weeks (no confirmation on that as of yet, though).

And to top it off, this morning's Herald Sun is also reporting that some visits before the tribunal from Scarlett and Mooney may also be in store.

GEELONG has an anxious wait with two key players under video scrutiny for incidents on Saturday night.

All-Australian full-back Matthew Scarlett and fellow defender Cameron Mooney are causing as much concern as injuries to Ben Graham, Brenton Sanderson and Darren Milburn.

Should Scarlett or Mooney be cited, it would compound the Cats' horror start to the season that saw St Kilda crush them by 61 points.

Seven-times Grand Final umpire Ian Robinson, the AFL's first video reports officer, is today due to study footage of incidents involving Scarlett and Mooney in the third quarter at Telstra Dome.

Scarlett's swinging right arm appeared to strike Nick Riewoldt in an off-the-ball incident as the Saints surged forward at the opening bounce after halftime.

Riewoldt was treated by trainers after the clash.

He resumed playing for a short time before spending 18 minutes on the bench.

The Saints' forward ace said later that he had left the field after having trouble breathing after a blow to the throat. He said he did not know how he came to be hit.

Mooney seemed to deliver a light head-butt to the back of Saint Aaron Hamill's head or neck after Fraser Gehrig had marked outside the goalsquare just before the three-quarter time siren.

Fox Footy, which was covering the game, showed the incident from the back and side-on as umpire Gavin Dore ran in to set the mark for Gehrig's shot at goal.

Carlton's Matthew Lappin already has a tribunal appointment after being booked for charging Fremantle's Byron Schammer.

Graham (strained shoulder), Sanderson (strained calf) and Milburn (strained knee) finished the game on the bench and are in doubt for Sunday's game against Carlton at Optus Oval.

Checks today will determine the extent of damage to Graham's left shoulder.

It is doubtful he will play against the Blues.
