Yet another problem.

When I try and install Demos, Patches anything an error happens. What happens is the file unpacks then I select English then the error:

The InstallShield (iKerenel.exe) could not be launched.

Access Denied.

This particular error came up when I was installing the Battlefield 1942 patch.

Before you ask, no its not the AntiVirus - Ive turned that on and off.. no diff.

Thanks for any help!

Are you running XP or 2000 and do you have admin rights?

Make sure you aren't running icq.

Finally have a look at http://consumer.installshield.com/ and especially the iKernel.exe Could Not Be Installed (0x20) option.

XP and I dont have ICQ. I dont know what admin rights are so I cant help ya there.. sorry.

I know that I dont have much space on my C drive (Ive got 2 hard discs - C and D) left. Maybe that could cause it?

When installing patches, you can't be using a No-CD crack or it f**** up... I doubt this is the problem though.

If this problem occurs every time you launch the Install Shield, then you might have a few system files corrupted or missing.

Has your computer been infected by a virus recently?

Try an online scan at
Trend Micro

Its a bit time consuming, but substantially better than Norton.
