Listening to SEN this morning, had to laugh when a caller talked about the all stars.

See if anyone can see what he was suggesting;

had to laugh though...purely because the words, "tigers" and "what could have been", have been doing the rounds for the last 20 years. Like why is it that the tigers are mostly involved in convos about what could have been?

the other what could have been is this too. Had we finished ontop of Freo, that year, they would have taken Fiora ahead of Pavlich, another piece of fate that didnt go the tigers way.

Like WTF has this team done to deserve such luck? ;)

For that very reason I'm contemplating having a DVD night on Saturday night as watching those 3 run around in the same side and dominating would be enough to send us long suffering Tiger fans over the edge. :)

No certainty he would have taken us places.
Pretty similar Richo and Pav. Both are champions of the game - both with deplorable surrounding casts!

if we had Pav we wouldnt have had Fiora hence wouldnt have been in the running for Buddy. why?

because we would have been a 100% better side. ie -50% with Fiora, +50% with Pav = 0%. which in real terms would have made us a 100% better side. But having said that i forgot to factor in the career wrecker we had as a coach..Pav owes us big time for not ruining his career. ;)

You did. We finished 15th. Ther only reason you got the pick 3 was the trade that Collingwood did for Steven McKee. We picked Paul Haselby first anyway, with Number 2. However the call (Pavlich, Richo, Franklin) is bullsh*t anyway.
 
Only thing I noticed was that the even with the so-called superstars in the forward line, it's Richo who gets the key position.

A coach who has ratified everyone's cuirosity as to why he was always an assistant to sheeds, instaed of coaching in his own right. You gave him 3 didnt you? LMAO...;)

Er, I thought I was just correcting you (re the respective positions of both clubs at the end of 1999) and I called the idea that you could have had Franklin, Pavlich and Richo in the same forward line bullsh*t.

It's like saying that we could've had Lloyd, Pavlich and Lucas, an idea that many propagate as fact when it's complete and utter crap.

whatever happened happened. But had you had the pick before us, you would have swopped on fiora leaving us with Pavlich. Which knowing how we were going about our business back then, still doesnt guarantee that we would have picked him anyway. name a dud that was picked subsequent to Pavlich and you could out your house on it that we would taken him. ;)
