Hope I am not breaching any forum rules by mentioning this.
Just finished reading Inside Footy paper and it is a good read.
Couple of articles written by David Rhys-Jones including an interesting interview with Kenny Hunter who mentions briefly his playing stint in Darwin which I remember seeing him play for Nth Darwin at the time.
Of interest to me was the draft and a rating as to how each club went, we scored a B which I thought was about right.
Plenty of praise for the Bombers to in picking up Jetta and Gumbleton.

I guess because some may see it as promoting a commercial publication...which it is not. You never know how people interpret things.
I was just interested in seeing the two page interview with Kenny Hunter who is one of my all time favourite players. His fight with depression was very interesting as I did not know he had it. Also there is another article by Rhys that is a good read. For me Rhys-Jones is probably in my top two best ever players for his aggression despite his thin frame.
Our B rating was intersting for the draft to, with only Gibbs mentioned as a starter for 07, whereas Essendon had two listed who are ready made for 07.
Huge raps on Leroy Jetta and Bachar Houli plus Gumbleton gave the Bombers a B+ score card, against our B for the draft picks rating.
For a slow period in the off season thought it was a good read.

Hunter interview was good. What a courageous gun he was, I sometimes had to look away as he flew into another pack. Inside Footy might sell a few more copies if it wasn't $6 to buy. As for the draft rating I was initially dissapointed but on thinking about it reasonably happy with a B.

I think B sits pretty right with how we drafted a month or so ago now, but we wont know for a few more years yet.

I find it stupid to grade teams on players that have never played yet. Essendon get a B+ cos they drafted the media-hyped players.

The rating are ridiculous!

Richmond and West Coast received an A or a higher mark than Carlton for their drafts yet we received a B.

Brett Anderson who did the ratings is just going by what he reads online, ie Mojo, Weaver, etc. and giving a high mark because of the name players everyone has read about.

Drafting Gibbs and Hampson is a better result than selecting Riewoldt and Edwards or M.Brown and McKenzie so I don't know how you can give them an A.

I like the article about the drafting of rucks and the interview with Hunter by Rhys was a good read.

^^^^ It's easy not to get frustrated by articles like this mate. Simply don't purchase this publication, because IMO, it is by far the worse footy magazine out there.

I only but it at this time of year to get my footy fix.

This site is normally full of trolling at this time of year with no games on and I'm not interested in the political side of football.
