Over the past couple of days all my icons on the favourites bar have changed icons.
Pretty useless if Bigfooty's shortcut is now a bank logo...

Any ideas how this can be fixed ?

IE does the job fine.

True,... but then again in theory DOS still does the job...

:D:D:D

In all seriousness, i have had this issue before, reset all settings and it went back to the way it was after a few days :(

I have no time for people who still insist on using such a crap browser.

Any error or bug you encounter figure it yourself and find out why this browser is the most hated and useless out of all of them.

Simple solution to this. Do not use IE. I use Chrome and before that I used Firefox. IE9 I tried though when it came out. That would have to be the worst excuse for a browser I have seen since IE8 :p.

I used Firefox for the last year or so I had my old computer (Windows Vista), but my new laptop that I bought about 6 months ago came with Windows 7 and the new Internet Explorer preinstalled, so I just stuck with IE. To be honest, apart from the ability to save a browsing session when you close the window in Firefox, I can't notice that much of a difference between the two browsers in terms of features or functionality.

Not only for web users, but there's also a whole other side to this equation too, and that is web developers and web designers.

IE is frustrating as hell for web developers/designers. Admittedly it has improved with each new version, but IE is still painful. Some people using IE probably wont be aware that some things which can be done with all other major browsers, don't work in IE, and require an "IE Hack", or other code, if it can be done.

If you have no preference either way - IE or Firefox/Chrome/Opera/Safari/etc - then please think of the developers who have lost many a hair over the years because of IE :D, and choose any browser except IE. Cheers. :thumbsu:

IE stopped the progression of web development and UX. For a while there while IE6 was the dominate browser web UX just stalled. For every new technology brought out it was halted because of IE6. It's a reason why during the years 2002-2007 Flash was big and most UX interactive sites were built with flash.

But since Chrome and firefox and to an extent Safari decided to move on and Ie6 just stalled it's no surprise we are seeing more and more web apps and better UX.

Try viewing facebook on IE6 without any hacks and you will understand where i am coming from.

Most everyday web users wouldnt understand this at.
