Internet Freezing.....

My computer has been having problems as of late, and it is quite annoying.

- When I get more than 1 Explorer window opening, the whole thing just freezes, and I have to ctrl-alt-delete to close them down.

(Especially annoying when I get pop-up adds....)


Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Sorry, I can't help Stuey, but I thought I would add my voice to this list.
My computer does the same thing, except I can't even use ctrl alt del. I have to reset the thing to get it started again.
Along with Stuey, I would be appreciative of any help.

Mine was doing the same thing about a month ago. But it would either just freeze the whole computer, or the mouse cursor would jump if I tried to move it.
Couldn't be stuffed doing anything about it for a few days, then it just seemed to fix itself and haven't had the problem since. Weird.

try the basic things, like running a virus scan, making sure you have a firewall going yadda yadda yadda

Thanks, after reading through that a bit I tried a few things. It seems to be working ok now when opening up 3 or 4 IE pages.

I think the main problem were spyware programs....

Dogwatcher, press Crtl Alt Del, and make a list of the programs that are running, if you have things like GMT, datemanager, precisiontime....they are all spyware things, and after deleting them, my internet seems to be ok.

Try downloading Spybot, and running that will get rid of the spware programs, but make sure you only delete the spyware.
