Internet homepage problem

I usually have my internet homepage set to ninemsn.com.au however over the last couple of days every time i log onto the internet i get some homepage coming up displaying all sorts of items you can buy over the internet.I have gone into control panel to change my homepage settings and have cleared the history but once i turn the computer on and off again and go into the internet i still get this weird homepage coming up.Doe anyone have any idea of how to get rid of this homepage so it doesnt keep popping up every time i go into the internet?

I get that **** too. You have to scan it with spybot or ad-aware. If that dosen't work then you stuffed, like I am right now with my homepage.

you have what is known as a hijacker - changes you homepage everytime you restart.

Go update ad-aware, or just google the name of the homepage it sends you to

Or re-install. Sometimes that's the easiest way to get rid of the damned things, particularly if you have more than one.

a re-install should be your last option. dont be re-installing at the drop of a hat, too much effort expended - just fix the damn problem, then get yourself a firewall

If your machine (Windows) hasn't been reinstalled in a year or two it would be a good idea to re-install anyway.

Yep, same thing happened to me a while back.

Ran Ad-Aware, it found it, and haven't had a problem since.

i had a prob where the homepage came up as a porno page (and this time i hadn't set it as one ).

..but yeah it's back to normal now...i just use westnet.com.au as my homepage now.
