The internet has been around for 30 years! makes you feel old considering what it was in the beginning to what it is. There have been many mysteries, urban legends and stories especially in the early days that have made their way on the internet that remain unsolved. lately I've been digging through some of them the most famous one from the early internet is the John Titor time traveler which has been discussed on these boards in the time travel thread but their have been many others which I'm keen to sink in too.

To be fair, you cant really say 30 years.
Yes it existed, but 15/20 people would not have even heard the word "internet" mch less had access to it.

It would be interesting to see any web addresses or email addresses appearing in pre-1970 publications, time travel evidence indeed.

Actually I got it wrong in the OP the internet has been around for much longer than 30 years! Bulletin boards, email all used a form of dial up internet in the 80's and the military was using it for much longer than that going back to the 60’s! Tim Berners-Lee creation of the World Wide Web using servers and web browsers is 30 plus years old! (1989 to be exact) and you are right it took to the mid 90's around 1994-95 before it become widely used by the common people not just IT nerds.

I actually got hold of one of the first Internet Encyclopedias (it might have been a Brittanica), before I realised that the interconnectivity of the internet meant that the design of an encyclopedia (all information in a single place) was no longer the most useful way to access information.
