Internet tethering on PS3?

Just came across this thing that I can use my iPhone as a modem (Wish I'd known a month ago!). Anyone know if it's possible to hook it up to the PS3? I read on the net that you can use an ethernet cable, but is anyone able to confirm if it's possible?

Not that I've tried it but I'm sure there's a couple of video's on youtube on how to do this, might be worth a search ..

Have you got a laptop?
Connect the laptop the the internet using the iphone.
then run an ethernet cable from your laptop to the ps3.

Thats how I used to connect my internet enabled laptop to my xbox 360

Edit: couldn't play because the game needed a patch and would take up most of my downloads.

Btw, does online gaming take up many downloads?

Not at all, maybe a gig a month? Patches/updates etc is what eats quota.

Online gaming should use roughly 50mb/hour.
